With Pryce enjoying a new lease of life in France and playing in good form at the moment, do people think he is still a chance of getting back to Test Footy at only 30 years of age ?

I don't think so.

There are quality players coming through.

St Helens and Warrington alone have enough players coming through to mean Pryce is no longer needed.

Throw in the Leeds and Hudds lot and Chase who did very little wrong in the last series then i don't see a place for him.

That said, if he performs well for long enough then there is always a chance.

I haven't seen him play for ages, but I always thought he was a "dangerous" player. It always puzzled me that our UK friends on this forum didn't seem to rate him.
When he was playing for Great Britain I thought he usually posed the biggest threat to the Kangaroos defence.
However, I think he was mostly played out of position at stand off.
IMO he was far more dangerous when playing at fullback.
I have no idea whether he will be picked again, but my gut feeling is that his papers may have been marked "never to be selected again".
I hope I'm wrong.

I admittedly haven't been able to follow Catalan over the opening weeks of the season, but as a half I think his days are over - there are better prospects on the rise. A good season at centre could certainly put him in the frame, given a good deal of the other options are not all that young, nor have they put in good performances in the past (exception to both points for Jack Reed, and perhaps Ryan Atkins).

Edit: I should clarify, I think some of the younger guys - Cudjoe, Watkins, etc.. should be ahead of him, but the selectors' mindset can be different and therefore he'd have to be a chance given a good season.

I'd love to see him switch allegiance to Jamaica for the final years of his career. It would give them a much needed boost and if he's not going to be chosen for England again, it's best not to waste his talent/profile etc...

Thanks for the excellent replies, i have only seen the highlights so far but Pryce is looking outstanding so far, a real game breaker for Catalan.

He's been playing 6 (1 game) he didn't play week one, week two was postponed and he looked to tear it up in week three.

My opinion was that I thought he would have made a brilliant centre. He has the speed, size and skill that tick the boxes and I was surprised no one ever thought the same.

As for Pryce himself, as a Leeds fan I always feared him getting the ball. There have been very few players over that last 10 years that have been able to break down the D at will against Leeds but the amount of times he seems to have come up with a late try or made a break that's set up a late try against us seemed to be unbelievable. For me he was the best player in the league before he started getting all his injuries.

he's been given the number 3 jersey but has been playing 6

i asked him on twitter a few weeks ago that if he could have his career all over again would he have gone to the NRL......he answered YES!....very nearly replied that he'd have to sort out his lazy arse attitude out then lol

such a waste of a naturally gifted footballer

I always thought he'd be a fantastic centre, such a natural ball runner but poor organisational skills. He still has to be an option for England if his form is good!

I thought Pryce was pretty average last night v Saints and Lee Gaskell was the better of the two five eighths, having said that Pryce still came up with a couple of beautiful plays which helped his team win.

Gaskell has impressed me with his performances in his role of added responsibility, hopefully he can continue to keep Hohaia on the bench.

He's got the atheticism, the size, the skills and the experience (think only JP has played in more GFs?). I think the largest obstacle Pryce has to being a truley great player is the fact that he is seemingly an utter moron.
