i saw in the tele yesterday that LG has been our major sponsor from 2001 till 2005

2005

i thought they made a new deal recently mybe in 2002

If the tele is correct it creates a new pressure to perform this year

I think they said 2005 just to show how long we've had them, not how long we'll have them.

And I do believe we're still contracted for next year.

I also think LG are now officially our longest jersey sponsor.

Yeah I read it. It was in yesterdays Tele and saying how much the jersey was worth. For the record, it was 4 million big ones.

It's wonderful to have a long term jumper logo. I always feel the ever changing logos on some clubs jumpers detract from the clubs overall brand.

LG have been a good sponsor for a long time , but it must be working well for them, as they were only really launching their brand here when they began, and now they are established as a leading electronics and home goods brand in this country, I would like to think the sharks involvement and aided in that profile increase .

Everywhere you look around sporting arenas thoughtout the world you see the LG symbol. We are fortunate to have them on board. Look at some of the other clubs. They seem to change major sponsors every year.

That's very true and we are lucky to have them Mr Matter. I notice LG alot in the UK and European Soccer matches and highlights. But as I was saying, do you think they are also appreciative of their profile they have gained from their sharks sponsorship ? I would like to think they are and that their exposure has been pretty good.

They are hard nosed bussinessmen. I don't think they would support us for the fun of it. If our team becomes successful, maybe win a premiership, I think they will stay on.

That's true, but do I sense in your response that you are worried about them staying on as sponsor should The Sharks not win a premiership soon ?

I wouldn't worry about that on two fronts. Firstly, they seem to have had a good response in their target market since they joined the club as sponsors, and secondly, I think a premiership is very close to being won anyway !
