Liam Fulton

The way i see it our season is pretty much over with the teams around us starting to string wins together. I was wondering if the maggies supporters could tell me how Liam Fulton has been going at five-eighth. If he has been performing well why not give him a go in the top grade as we really have nothing to lose and the experience would definitely help him develop into a better player come season 2005. I'm all for giving the young blokes a run especially when players like Buettner will hang up the boots at the end of the year. I think Collis, Kerr, Harrison, Fulton, Halatau and Gibbs should be given more first grade experience before the seasons end.

I agree with you about giving the youngsters a run, unfortunately most people here won't agree.

I don't mean throw them all in at the deep end. You still need the likes of Skando and Buckets to help the guys along. I would rather watch guys play that I know will be with the club next year rather than see someone like Buettner play when Fulton could do the job

I`ve seen the Magpies play 3 times this year and Fulton was undoubtedly the man of the match in each win,2 games he played 5/8,the other he played lock!In particular, the game against Parra,he looked like Scott Hill and Trent Barrett rolled into one!I`m not even sure he played last week, but aside from that game,he has been pretty much been in the top 2 or 3 players for the Magpies every game going by the Magpies match report.

So what is going through Tim Sheens head????????? I've watched Buettner since his return and he is well past it. I hope he plays well against the Storm but i strongly doubt it. I hope Viane and Fulton are late inclusions for Buettner and Wilson but extremely unlikely to happen

I saw his game against Parra, and he was absolutely brilliant at five-eighth. He played alongside Kerr, and completely outdid him.

I think the only reason Sheens isnt looking to next year with his selections is that he hasnt totally given up on the eight. He is still picking the best team possible, which I believe is right. If we lose this week, I expect to see all our young players getting a run.

Frankly I think he'll make a better 5/8 than Marshall. He can do the individual stuff, but he sets his outside men up. Solid defender, smart and improving kicking game, great pass and vision, and enough toe to outpace Joven Clarke on a 50m run to the tryline against the bunnies. Can't remember the last time he missed a game due to injury. What more do you want? He's a dead set gun.
