Line betting

Question for the punters out there, could some explain to me what "line betting" is in regards to rugby league?

Also what does a "start" refer to. Eg the roosters have a 10.5 start.

See it on sportsbet all the time but never understood it

It's a handicap bet.

If Roosters have a 10.5 head start (+10.5) it means that if you bet on the Roosters they can lose by 10 points and you still win the bet.

The other side of the bet is if you bet against say the Broncos, you would bet Broncos (-10.5) and the Broncos would have to win by 11 points or more to win the bet.
