Looking good for France...

I don't know if this means anything in the bigger picture, but it fills me with hope...

I see that the Catalans scorers in the game against Hull were all French..This isn't Elite one here, this is in ESL conditions...

I am hearing stupid negative comments about Australia bounding way in the WC with daylight second..

What absolute rot..

The Poms seem extremely ready to face us and look pretty damn good. The Kiwis will have ALL their stars and will be competitive...

If you ask me, even if Samoa and France face off in a semi, this will be a killer match worth 80,000 in Sydney...It's just crazy this scenario won't happen...

I think France have a real chance of causing a scare in the WC. Maybe they won't be there on November 22 at Suncorp, but whoever is there and played France to get there, should feel lucky they are there...!!

Julian Rinaldi was in fine form and rated one of the best players for Quins in the win over Warrington,

Also Thomas Bosc continues to get good reviews playing in the halves for Catalan.
Throw Greseque into the mix and things are looking positive around the halves.

It's quite amazing that a year ago everyone was saying that France had no options in the centres coming through, now all of a sudden Duport, Baile, Stacull, Khattabi have popped up.

Long gone are the days of playing Sadoui and Moly in the centres...

Rugby League Express are running a Dally M type of award named in honour of Albert Goldthorpe and Bosc is currently second behind Michael Monaghan proving he's not a flash in the pan but a consistent performer week in week out.

Why would you throw Greseque in?
He cant even get a game in SL and is intent on being a small fish in the big pond

youngsters Amar Sabri, Mikeal Murcia maybe

Baile is far too slow and Stacul far too small. Khattabi and Duport are the only realistic choices I think.

Khattabi has some serious defensive frailties IMO, Duport is a class act, hope he gets by the injury problems he seems to permanatly be battling.

Stacul is only young and has time on his side to bulk up

there are now about 5 or 6 very good french players because of the catalan dragons. its a slow build and catalans average close to 9000 per game. vincent duport ,could be really good, if france can develop 17 international class players then i can imagine a time when they will truly compete at a world level

I think England and France are laughing...

All I hear from some people who should know better are that it will be a Australia and NZ World Cup final...

I am sure Australia will be there, but a recent players poll of NRL players thought the biggest threats to the Kangaroos will be a) NZ b) Themselves and c) Samoa...!!

These NRL players are ignorant of their own game.

England is well capable of being at the final and I am confident of France defeating Samoa for 4th..

I think some people will be surprised by the French and I think they will be a breath of fresh air to the tournament...

For the first time in how long, we will be witnessing Australian commentators trying to pronounce some of the French names in a major Rugby league game...

Can't wait...!!

48 - 0 win against Huddersfield.

They are now coming 2nd in Superleague with a French halfback, things are looking REALLY GOOD.

France can be superior to Samoa et al due to the variation they can play with, while Samoa will be too power-orientated.

As to an earlier comment, I'd still have Greseque in the halves as he's so super talented, much more so than Bosc, who should be 5/8.

According to Wikipedia, Bosc isn't in the 'possible world cup squad' but he's in the probable starting line up...

I know it's not the best resource, but jeez...

PS: The probable starting lineup has Bosc at Fullback, not the halves...??

Bosc will play six, surely! Unless they go with Greseque and Wynn, but that'd be bad. Dunno who the best 1 would be. Any ideas? France lacks a game breaking FB and I can't remember the last time they had a great one. The long time encumbent, whatsisname, was very capable but I guess he's no longer in their plans. Renauld Gigue....
