Losing Juniors

Starting to become a little concern about the amount of local juniors being lost, this year especially. OK so with the figures being banded around keeping Hoppa may have been not an option. But if you consider we have a very small junior league competition losing the following this year alone is a cause for concern;

- Will Hopoate - we all know the rest.
- Luke Vescio - 2011 Manly SG Ball captain and 20s player, current Australian Schoolboy.
- Joey Lussick - 2011 Harold Matts captain younger brother of Darcy.
- Jamil Hopoate - younger brother of Will, 2011 SG Ball and Nsw Schoolboys representative.

It's ok to recruit as we don't have the junior depth but concerning when we are losing our best juniors then trying to replace them from elsewhere. Maybe we spend too much time looking elsewhere and not enough in our own backyard. Our premiership team is built around a core of local juniors and for continued success this has to be a priority.

We don't have the budget to spend big from 1st grade all the way down, the money dries up a lot quicker than other Sydney clubs, holding onto elite players from the Toyota Cup age group down is a luxury we cannot afford.

As long as you can afford to hold onto Cleal it won't matter.

But with village idiot Reddy gone from Parramatta, the Eels won't be such a fertile poaching ground for you anymore.
