Speaking of the younger players, wasn't it refreshing to see a coach smart enough to disregard the safety first / wait til they're old enough enough approach by playing a rookie from the under 20's in the Cowboys vs Broncos.
Meanwhile over the last five years we've played an ageing hooker in Fien, an over the hill Benji Marshall, Josh Mc Crone and even Jack De Belin at halfback, while a guy like Jack Bird supposedly wasn't ready for first grade according to our coaching staff.....

Our so called pathways program hits a major snag when the dopey NRL coach won't play any of them. This obviously didn't only piss off Milward. I think you will find that Mary has lost so much support that he is a dead man walking.

At the game, Field, Dufty and leilua outstanding especially IMO Leilua.
Roosters look much better with the ball, with Joseph Manu a standout. Their defence has much more power & it was weird to see one of the smallest players on the field (Jack Payne) brush off a few weak attempts to score & make it 14-0. It looks bad for the Dragons in the 2nd half, Roosters well on top & now only down 14-12.

Second half they have gone to sleep. Roosters all over them. 7 to go down by 2 not looking good.

Roosters well on top, Dragons have nothing left. They look exhausted. Only a Dufty long range try will save them.

Shame they lost but over achieved massively this year.

Tuuta Edwards at centre was a mistake and Head needs to take responsibility for that.
Field and his goal kicking finally came back to bite them on their arse.
Leuila went missing completely in the second half just not good enough.
