Voting is simple. After each test, post your three best players into the appropriate test match thread. Before the next test match , I will count the scores of each player and post the results.

Here are my points.

3. Zaheer Khan. Without his big wickets and his crucial runs/occupation at the crease on the 3rd and 4th day, Australia would have gone VERY close to winning.

2. Michael Hussey...Mr Cricket looked at ease in the conditions. Only Australian to do so, despite Ponting's great score.

1. Ricky Ponting...gutsy knck from a guy with a very poor average in India. He set the tone for the Australian side early. Lack of slow bowling options/Khan and Harby's stand cost us victory.

3 Ponting ... withouth his innings australia don't have a first innings total to build from ... to come out in first over and steer the ship was a real captain knock
2 Hussey ... didn't look like getting out once until he finally did in the first innings
1 Zaheer ... 50 plus 5 for

Can I make a few suggestions Engine

1. Rename the thread, Player of the Series.
2. We update it at the end of each test match.
3. Keep a running tally in the original post.
4. Make it a sticky till the series is over.

Its a great idea btw.

Anyway, for me

3. Michael Hussey - solid as always

2. Ricky Ponting - got a 100 and took a great catch in the 4th innings

1. Zaheer - 10 wickets and a 50

An honourable mention goes to Sunshine who had a good performance with the ball and did looked good with the bat in Australia's 2nd innings

3 - Zaheer ... single handedly saved India's arse.
2 - Hussey ... wonderful first innings, just pipping Punter.
1 - Ponting ... great captain's knock. More to come and is my pick for player of the series.

3. Kahn (Saved India with the bat, and caused damage with the ball)
2. Hussey (146, excellent as always)
1. Singh (took key wickets and racked up a half century to help India avoid the follow on)

Actually he didn't avoid the follow-on. Ponting would never, ever have enforced the follow-on
