Finishing the regular 2006 season in fifth place would have been a slight disappointment for the club given it looked set for a top four spot. But it was still an improvement on 2005 and realistically they looked like making an impact in the finals...

indeed. I predicted 5th or 6th last year and i will do it again this year. Lost a champion, gained a champion so we are back to where we started in 06.

It was a pretty up-beat review I thought.

Orford's own standards are very high indeed. Under colours of Melbourne, I have seen him dominate entire matches. Whole games played almost at his discretion.

A less than commanding game from Orford is too hastily considered by some as being ordinary or poor. Gowie has the same problem. The price of excellence.

Opposition clubs will also focus on troubling Lyon.

He can expect a real NRL welcome home by way of multiple crunchings over several weeks. Hes very tough mentally, I hope he can take his hidings in his stride.

He's just too dangerous to ignore.

Might be worth resting him for some of the damaging early games, unless its panic stations.

Use only as directed-that kind of approach.

Definately wont have Burns and Dunley on the bench together as the likely team shows. If we did we would be stuffed.
