To me, this is no contest. Nathan Brown.

Let's start with his playing career. I thought the guy was a very average player. I think his blonde locks gave him such a long career in the top grade.
He was a VERY average defender with a poor workrate. He had some skills, but no more than your average nrl hooker at the time. He was a very slow dummy half runner as well.
As a coach, he had many resources to work with. He was also given a significiant time period to work with. Despite poor results, the guy was kept on the payroll.
This years lucky draw has kept St George in the frame or the 8. Only Nathan Brown can get a lucky origin run of playing a depleted Melbourne, Brisbane and Gold Coast.
This luck also got him a gig with Huddersfield when most thought his head coaching career would probable end.

For his limited abilities, he has had the most blessed career.

I don't hate St George. I even think Nathan Brown is probably a good bloke. But, the guy has had a hell of a dream run in his football career.

Imagine if a man like David Woods had such a run.

People forget how young he still is as a Head Coach.

I hope he does well in the UK, and gets a gig back here one day.

Good luck Browny.

I stopped right here, this shows you have NFI at all. Did you honestly expect to be taken seriously ?

On February 3, a serious neck injury in a pre season match against Canterbury saw the hooker being air lifted by helicopter to hospital. Reports indicated that Nathan Brown had numbness or lack of feeling from the neck down. He recovered and reports later suggested that he was back into training and would eventually resume playing.
On March 16, on the advice of a specialist, Nathan Brown aged just 27, announced his retirement from Rugby League.
Neurosurgeons examining Brown's injury discovered an unrelated congenital problem with his spinal chord. This 'narrowing' of the spine was the main factor behind Nathan's decision to retire. It is remarkable that he hasn't suffered earlier permanent damage considering his sporting career. Indeed, it is good news that Nathan can lead a normal life and excel in other areas off the field.

ps I don't think his hair had anything to do with his career. it would have if I was the st george coach though. rrrawr.
