If Jamie Lyon is granted a release to play with Wee Waa, he most certainly will be selected to play for Group 4 in Divisional trials, get picked for Northern Division, then Country Origin, followed by State of Origin and finally the Test squad. He's not gonna get a break so he may as well come back to the Eels.
Do you think CRL will let him pick and choose where he plays. Mmmmmm
Very interesting..... [-o<

I'm fairly sure Jamie will make him self unavaible and I dont theink selectors would pick anyone who is not playing NRL football.

I thought the reason Jamie wanted out of Parra and the NRL is too escape the high pressure of the big games and simply play for fun in the country. If he was going to play rep football he may as well keep playing for Parra, even if it was just the home games or something.

In theory i guess he would be available, but the selectors wouldn't pick him given he isn't playing for an NRL club.

Could you imagine the uproar amongst the media if Jamie chose to play for Country after asking for a release from Parra. It is not going to happen!!!! Incidently, Killer ran the water for Wee Waa on the weekend in their Tamworth KO victory and he still needs the OK from the other Group 4 teams to be allowed to play given his situation.

Why is he above the law? Steve Reardon, Brett Goldspink Robbie Beckett all picked for Riverina. Not allowed to declare themselves unavaliable. If they don't want to play are stood down until afterr the City Country match.
Would he have a case for discrimination if playing in Country and was not eligible for Origin selection because he is not playing in the NRL? :?:

He would be allowed to be picked but just because he is allowed doesn't mean he will be picked.

The selectors could just say that there were other players in better form.

If he does play for NSW I would atleast be confident he will acquit himself better than the great Phil Duke did in 1982!
