Ray Hardley has revealed that Jamie Lyon will be ruled out of the Kangaroo tour due to strees fractures in his back. Wise move under the circumstances.

That's a shame for Jamie as he'd be the first picked in the centres. Better that he rests up so that he's 100% for 2004 though when we take out the premiership 8)

It was the same person that told me about Grothe Jnr the weekend before it was announced that he'd signed with us so the source is pretty solid.

Poor Bugger...he would of made the team for sure...no Doubt but i would rather him 100% for Parramatta in 2004...We'll need him in the backline...You could really tell in 2002 when he was ruled out for the season on how much we really missed him.

We are not a one man side but without him next year...we wouldn't win the comp let alone make the 8...i feel some people this year thought Jamie was a bit slow off the mark and granted he was but what i saw too that he did a shitload of work in defense.

And then in the last few months he pretty much blew some sides off the park.

I couldn't believe my ears when Peter Peters said "Lyon hasn't done anything this year" when he was picked for Australia and then against Manly at the stadium when he stood up Manly fullback Brett Stewart and some people behind me remarked "Well thats the only good thing he has done this year"...i didn't really care as i said "He is the best centre in the world"...which he is...and no i don't think i'm biased in saying that.

Tell me would anyone in their right minds swap Jamie Lyon for any other centre in the world?

You can have your Walkers,Tates,Harris,Vaganas,Gidleys and Hughes but i would still take Jamie Lyon over all of them.

He is the best center i have seen since Steve Ella.

Yeah good point Lyon. Spoke to a mate of mine who rated Lyon better than Ella I personally think he's about 1 to 2 seasons away from reaching such a status.

That's a bummer for Jamie, as he had it over the other centres for the test spot. Hopefully he'll be fully fit for the start of 2004 and continue his great form and rep honours.

The only reason some people feel he didn't set the world alight earlier in the year was he was never getting any ball until we tried John Morris at five eighth... Though his defensive effort all year was outstanding, and when he did get the ball, gee he showed how good he is!

Yeah, good call Hadley. Lyon HASN'T been ruled out yet - although he is in duobt! (Footy show this morning).

I already think Lyon is better than Ella at the same stage. Lyon has grabbed the rep jumpers that Zip couldn't, and Zip was in a far better team that Killer is in.
