To be fair, he wasn't our junior.

Great buy for the tigers, wish him all the best. I think his potential is enormous.

Yeah you're right, for some reason I thought he played for the Saints as a kid...

Nonetheless, never nice to invest the time into a young player to have another club take them off you as soon as they start to look alright.

That's gracious of you. (I'm assuming you're a tigers supporter, and if that's the case you blokes have had a horrid time lately with developing players who go on to turn their backs on your club)

It's funny though. I actually think we have treated him rather badly. He played very well for us while filling a gap at the end of last year, and then was dumped at the start of this year for a bloke who I believe he regularly outperformed.

I'm disappointed , but I really can't blame him for leaving to seek a first grade opportunity. I think he was a victim of club politics, and I think if he keeps a good attitude he has the talent to forge a big first grade career.

Yeah given our own dramas hanging onto promising players I'm pretty empathetic when we go poaching others. For whatever reasons coaches have different ideas and they can't be told (again, something else we know plenty about.)

Mann was average last week. He's not a centre IMO. Still think we should resign him on utility value alone. 5/8th and I suspect fullback are his best positions. Similar to Field... Not saying it's right but maybe the club have chosen Field over Mann?

Now you've got it! Millward does not want him. Probably has tabled a cheap offer and happy to see him walk. Millward would be of the opinion he has Field who can play fullback and five-eighth. The problem is he and Dufty have not been tested as yet.

I'd love to see Dufty given a go at fullback this Monday, with Dugan going to right centre. I'd also like to see Lawrie or Kerr given a run off the bench.

Dufty has to be before Field for F/B surely he plays there for ressie's and is going great by all reports

I agree.

Dufty deserves first crack and he should be picked for the next 2 origin weeks when Dugan is unavailable.

In doing this, if Dufty goes well then I would consider keeping him there and moving Dugan to right centre to bolster that edge.

Let's face it Dugan won't be there next year and we need a good right centre solution if we are going to go deep into 2017.

For mine right centre and halfback are the 2 areas we need to fix asap.

Deserves? Interesting given that he has had his best game all season last week. By all means throw him in the mix but if he fails to deliver does he get ridiculed like Mann was? Just curious.

Correct, so pick him while he is in form, same for Nona too I reckon.

We won't know unless we try.

Damn shame.

Had a blinder with the boot last start.

Well as soon as he is fit then...
He has been a phenomenal kicker for the last couple of years in the Cutters/Steelers. Demetriou has huge raps on him. I'm guessing he wished he returned to Qld instead of stagnating here. Damn shame alright.

Agreed.

I very much enjoyed watching him in the cutters last year.

Ok he might not be the flashiest half but he sure can kick accurately.

As opposed to McCrone who is adept at kicking out on the full.

The Dragons are going pretty well this season but I can't help but think how much better we could be with the field position Nona's boot would provide...

Funny, I was driving today and Triple M were talking about the Ben Hunt Saga and Josh McCrone. Those guys were talking very positively about McCrone saying that he was having a great season and playing excellent footy.
I was kind of shocked TBH. If you read this forum you would think he is having a poor season.

Im not sure if those guys watch Dragons games as closely as most on here.

Defensively he has been solid but his kicking game is very ordinary at best.

He adds very little in attack.

Nona may be injured now but his kicking game alone would be a massive upgrade.

Perhaps they don't watch the games closely.
I am intrigued to see what happens next with McCrone.
On occasions this year I have been super impressed with him and on others I have been screaming at the tv.
I can't wait to see what unfolds next.

It should have always been Field or Mann at 7. Mary should have had more faith in his old boy Club; his extension was always assured.

Same but unfortunately the later far outweighs the former for mine.

I like u possm, had Mann and Widdop in the halves for my round one team, but with Widdop's sensational form turnaround so far this season, I think Nona's accurate boot is just what need to go to get even better over the back half of this season.
