Yeah, he's not a has-been.
He's a never-was.
Both of those are still way better than that girl singing group that's been trotted out at halftime these last two weeks.
I'm sure those girls have some talent, but it's hasn't been on display at Parra Stadium from what I've seen. Not really the kind of 'entertainment' a whole stadium of footy fans wants anything to do with.
No point in having half time entertainment. Does anyone actually care what is happening?
They should just use the video screen at half time.
Prepare some decent highlights packages, or put together interviews with former players etc (hello TCT website), and leave it at that?
Sure, they'll probably want to run 2mins of on-screen ads in a 10min break, but just spare us from the nutbags in the middle with a microphone, on field games or pointless cheerleading dances etc!
The cheerleader shit is from the 1970s and doesn't add anything to game day experience. The MC with a microphone and kicking or running games is also just annoying rather than entertaining.
Just have live feed footage of the toilet & food lines so people can decide if it's worth it.
Or on Saturday/Sunday steal Fox's feed of the other games and have a highlight/update of other games
Have a live feed to the bunker and watch the refs having a halftime feed.
Oh my god that fricken singing group... what did we do to deserve that kind of torture.. They are terrible, I suggested to Korny at the game on Saturday that maybe someone in NRL management has a kid in that group, and that putting them in our half time show is penance, and part of the deal we made to keep our 4 competition points.
They are fair dinkum woeful. I'd rather watch the cheerleaders try to dance than that. I'd pretty much be happy with anything other than that.
At halftime at the Cowboys game a mate said to me "Wonder what they're going to have as halftime entertainment this week."
I said "Well I'm sure it won't be as bad as last week."
Little did I know...#-o
They should have a bunch of kids from the local junior comps (maybe 10-12 year olds) competing in different competitions like catching bombs, goal kicking etc. One event each home game.
Then towards the end of the year the best 3 compete over the last few home games in a sort of decathlon. The winner could get season tickets for the next year.
Good for him. There can't be many gigs for professional ground announcers.
So I guess he'll be putting his kids back in private schools?
please don't use the word "professional" to describe what mark warren does
Did they get this new guy from Dapto Leagues Club bingo night ?
Matty Johns? I agree, he's pretty bad.
What new guy?
The current ground announcer has been doing it for at least 3-4 years I think.
They did the usual lull in game I know “Parra clap clap clap, Parra clap cla” and it’s a scrum
Yeah I know. He’s rubbish compared to the official merkin from ANZ / origin games.
Separate names with a comma.
