What if Brown was to get sacked by Newcastle? Then we could have Barrett, Brown and McGregor all in the coaches box together. Like the Three Stooges, but without anything to laugh about.

That would be worse...

Not only would the knuckleheads be too damn busy slapping one another , but they would also be blaming each other for the failures that are sure to follow when the 3 greatest minds of the NRL work together.

Since the board re-signed Mary, the players stopped playing. So rather than blame the board for re-signing him and Mary, everyone else is being blamed from the players, Assistants and Recruitment. In all honesty the squad is strong so it can't be his fault Millward's fault. They were tipped to make top 4 and have had players crack origin or rep jerseys for the first time. The Assistants just do what the head coach tells them to do and the players look like they have lost belief in what they are being told to do by the head coach. Everything leads to him yet he is blameless by the media and the board. Well the board are just saving the ar$ese hence why they are not bagging him but the media seem to love him to death. You know that Langmack, Pearce, Daley etc where gun players as well but failed as coach. Mary won't be the only one and he will be in good company.

yeh..maybe not and it is a mute point.
He was signed after round 5 (bulldogs game)
Okay we were lucky to beat Manly Round 6, they were without Turbo / AFB / Walker and had Elgey & Eliott in their spine
The rest is history. 2 Wins over 13th & 15th place current teams since.
Na.. he has lost the dressing room

We have players who are not strong enough or experience d enough for NRL.
Dufty too small, our wingers not ready yet Mika Ravalava will get better, our centres are below par, our half Ben Hunt is not on his game. We are lacking a couple of big forwards to back up Friz and Vaughn.
The players may have dropped their heads well that's not good enough. And our coach needs to be replaced.

The media always sounds like McGregor's campaign manager. Why hasn't he come under the intense scrutiny as Neil Henry did, the sacked Titan's coach. The Dragons never seem to get much air time even when they have been winning games. A conspiracy therapist might wonder if some media people like to see the Dragons doing badly because of their past glories. I get tied of people like MMM's Bryan Girdler steer any conversation about the Dragons away towards the panthers. If there is a conspiracy to keep the Dragons languishing at the bottom of the table, propping up McGregor as a good coach is working brilliantly.

Actually, they were terrible before then as well. They got lucky thanks to two field goals and beat the Dogs. If Norman misses those field goals, Mary would have got the axe by now.

we keep reading mary is safe, WHY. HOW what has he done on any level to keep him so safe.

He's got more excuses than a thesaurus.

When you're good at making excuses, it's hard to excel at anything else.

Excuses are the tools with which persons with no purpose in view build for themselves great monuments of nothing.

He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.

Ninety-nine percent of the failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses.

The real man is one who always finds excuses for others, but never excuses himself. ..........

The problem with Mary is that no matter what happens during the season.
No matter how dreadful we are playing.
He always has a raft of excuses at the ready.
These days he makes excuses and then says " but we can't use that as an excuse"
One of the worst excuses is the JDB debacle.
One player does not explain this season away nor does it exonerate McGregor of his negligence.
The problem for McGregor now is that the excuse well has dried up and he is glaringly exposed to all concerned.
Bottom line is that his technical knowledge is poor and always has been.
Kent has now hammered Siebold and Cleary as the self appointed coach basher of the NRL BUT he treads very warily when it comes to the biggest controversy in the league - Paul McGregor.
Maybe he's next on Kent's hit list.
