Winner winner chicken dinner even without hodges

Don't worry your 3 years in to your 10 year plan...

Oh man. Can't believe that we lost even when Hodges wasn't playing - because without him we have a vastly superior lineup

Back to being serious - your astute predictive powers were out in force again - how many tries DID they score down Ben Roberts side? None was it?
Oh the shame.

And a real question about the game:
Am I the only one who thinks Morgs is crap in defence? Not so much his ability to execute a tackle (he does that well) - his positioning has been crap for years. He always seems to get caught cheating into the middle third of the field and leaving his winger with a 3 on 1.
It's the same thing I've been saying about him since last year, and I don't see any improvement. Personally hoping that he's converted into a winger next year, he's quick, takes his man on, and the rushing in thing would be perfect as a last resort.

[also, to clarify, not blaming him for our loss in the slightest, just pointing out his defence seems to come up short fairly often on the same front]

At least get your grammar right. It is 'you're 3 years into......'

You're not, by any chance, running for parliament in the forthcoming election? Would make for some inspiring campaign speeches.

Watching both games last night there is no suprise we are where we are. The level of skill and execution in the first game was the polar opposite to the shit dished up by both teams in the second game. We have a long long way to go.

This Manly club have been a continually work in progress since 2005. Every year they manage to add pieces that come into the team and help them be premiership contenders year in and out. Souths are a good team and will challenge for the premiership for years to come. So depressing.

I think his biggest problem is he doesn't trust the player on his outside or inside - as you said he is always coming in. He just needs to be told to stay on his man and trust the others.

I also think he should play wing next year - with hoppa, tonga and loko his is most likely our fourth centre (but tonga / loko are always injured) . Also didnt he play wing in u20

Same thing happened with Reddy.... I think our defensive structure drags players in field. Not sure why it happens but it has been one constant over past years. I don't think it is isolated to one player. Out defence is shit across the park.

Do you guys think hit-ups are just for making metres? Inside the 20 the whole point is to suck defenders in, creating space out wide.

The McGuire try happened because we refused to compress.

he missed mccullough's dummy too....twice.

i thought playing fui fui for 35 minutes straight was a bit odd....and bringing him back in when it was too late even stranger

He's been playing longer stints the last three weeks. I'm Fui's biggest fan but he was terrible last night.

The McGuire try happened because 4 stupid twats looked at the dummy half, the widest person for some reason ran towards the dummy half to tackle no body and it appeared no one talked to anyone, leaving a gigantic hole that I couldve run through.

I think we have many problems with our defence. In fact I actually dont think we have anything right with our defence currently.

Our defence when trying to contain the other team at their end of the field is awful, majority if the time a teams gets it back over halfway.

We just lacked that execution in attack to make a dent, we had enough chances to score enough points last night

Just looking at the stats for the game:

We had more sets
We made more metres
We made more tackle busts
We made more offloads
Made made less errors
We made less tackles
We missed less tackles

So we really there wasn't any excuses except that our halves didnt deliver.

The fulltime stats certainly showed that we matched them. But the stats at halftime indicated we should have been down by 30 points.

What this means is we dominated the second half, but just couldn't cross the tryline. Was a frustrating game.
