The payout for the last 2 years of his contract is probably a lot more appealing than another 2 years of coaching this lot
Better for his health and future employment.
Doggies are a poor side but they try most games. On paper we should win but our blokes only seldom have a crack. If it becomes a game of will, we lose.

On paper our side should win, but on current trajectory they will more likely continue like headless chooks, leaderless, unorganised, poor use of interchange, players not putting in or unable to put in by not getting the ball or at worst dogging, and not an 80 minute effort. Sad to say but my hope / expectations of this squad and the coach and his assistants has bottomed out. It cant go any lower. AND YET, I still support the guys. Stupid me................

EDIT- and how can I forget, the dropped balls, failed kicks, poor support play and positioning and missed tackles to put the final nail in the coffin.

If the Doggies put in 80 minutes of effort, they win, because our mugs can't manage that.
After the horror of last week, my expectation is that we won’t win any further games this year.

I think the balance of the season should be about experimenting.

Even be happy to see Madge take a few weeks off towards the end of the season, hand over to assistants to see what happens. I don’t see any reason to risk any of our good players for a pre season injury.

I don’t see any point in a heavy duty pre season, that just killed us at the start of the year.

Cody Walker on tv last night saying Bennett doesn’t have too much day to day involvement etc. I found that pretty interesting.

I think Gus was saying Bennett believes in the extra effort before and after half time. Maybe Madge does too, but it’s not working.

Madge as a hard task master hasnt done anything except resulted in a poor season with a few floggings. I suspect key players aren’t too overjoyed.

The last fifteen minutes of that game last week was symbolic.

But the good news is that we can hardly get any worse, we just have to tough it out and be future focused.

I hope we don't - I want to see big changes next year. I'm sick of the shit we serve up it's beyond pathetic
Yeah I think that would be one way of achieving some change.

Players aren’t tuned into Madge at all.

Game on the line and nobody follows up to dummy half. Did they think an alien would beam down at the play the ball?

That’s why I don’t blame Madge completely. He has to take some blame, but no full load.

When a player is playing bad - you generally drop the player. When a team is playing bad (and has done for three years) - then what do you do?

You do a massive clean out of players, I’m happy to shift out a full 30 % of the loafers.

Happy to wreak havoc and take a risk. Some fancied players will need to be marched.
Madge needs substantial help or to be moved on. It’s a pity Tim is stuck abroad.

What Madge can’t do, under any circumstances, is stick to formula. I agree with that. He’s gotta throw his fundamental coaching beliefs out. They aren’t working.

Why we aren’t loading up with ambitious current storm junior officials etc for our back office is beyond me. We could learn a lot from them, implement best practice and help Harto recruit the right players

We will be ambushed. Any team that loves an ambush will do that to us. Ideally we defend touch for the opening 20 and kill them in the second half, but that requires hard work which we do not specialise in.

And to think we can turn around and watch another depressing night mare tomorrow night with tiger tales if they don’t turn up today.

Looked at the dogs team

‘How shit is that, should smash them’

Looked at our tram

‘Oh God I hope we somehow scrape home’

My wife keeps telling me we are sure to win this game. I have no confidence in our team. We could win by 50 or lose by 50.

We need to win this one. We should win this one.
We probably won't win this one.

This is exactly right. Last week to me was a classic example. We had the better cattle on the park. We could have played smart footy and we would have won easy.

We choose to play dumb footy.

Tigers are absolute duds. 4 or 5 players in that Dogs side are Flegg eligible and they’re challenging the tigers, we should be beating them by 30

We won. We grinded the game out. Sure the Dogs are crap and we aren't much better but I'll take it.

Winning pretty or winning ugly, it’s still 2 pts.

We are a long way from being a good team, but small steps, may pay off eventuall.
