Matt Adamson that is ... according to the Mole of Rugby League Week.

Former Panthers favourite (that's questionable) Matt Adamson is being lined up for a shock (it will indeed be) return to Penrith.

It goes on to say the Premiers hope to lure the 31 year old back to the NRL.

Oh pahlease!!!

One reason that flashes before me of my dis-taste at reading this, is what a huge kick in the guts that is for Satts. Not even an offer ... yet we read this garbage and I hope it remains a rumour.

I'd rather they entice big MG to lace on the boots and make his comeback if they wanted a senior to fill the void and be an influence to youngsters. :D

The way that Adamson walked out of the club, amidst one of our darkest times, pissed me off greatly. Cop out. He went to Leeds, saying that he had a better chance of getting a title there.

And now he wants to come back? Geez, wonder why?

Glory hunter I reckon!

Look, don't get me wrong, he's a great player, and if he did want to make a return to the NRL, there would be a number of clubs that should chase after his signature.

I just hope that we aren't one of them. As PK said, it would be a kick in the guts for people like Satts. The way that was handled was far from good.

Yeah you can't believe that either, pepstar. I remember when Presto was rumoured to be putting on the black the same person said if it was true he would parade around in a tutu.

I am choosing not to believe the rumour because I think it might be MA's pathetic attempt through a media outlet crying out 'What about me...' I remember very well how he worked the media to get acknowledged for rep selection and raise his price tag.

matt adamson and his big head and ego go totally against the culture that has developed at this club since he departed, which conincidentally was about the same time john lang arrived. That is a culture of talented down to earth kids.

If adamson is signed by penrith i will lead the lynch mob against richo.

He would only be on match payments if he did return. Didn't he have a suspect knee? Pommie footy is soft. I don't think he'd cut the mustard anymore over here, particularly at his age.

He walked out on our team when the times were rough; rough due to people like him. Now when we are seeing better times he thinks he can just walk back in again. I do not think so! He was a good player when he played for us but I never liked him. Not then, not now.
A personal account; he snobbed me and my younger brother several times when we were younger and collect autographs before the game - the only player who ever did snob us out of any club. I have great memories of players signing autographs for us - Mark Coyne after the game when Penrith went down to the Dragons, talking to us and asking us about our day, making us forget the loss; superstars of the game like The Chief and Freddy made the time for me; and Girds who once signed my book upside down and feeling really bad afterwards, apoligising; and Gary Freeman for example, signed as many as he could for the kids before the game and then told us to meet him back here after the game so he wouldn't miss anyone. He went out of his way to make the time for his fans. Times and players like those keep the fans supporting the game. But Matt just couldnt be bothered with any of us.
Players and people involved in the club like Adamson give our great organisation a bad name and I'll be buggered if I'm making the trip down to Penrith to watch glory-hunters like him run around in the colours we are proud of and would never leave, even during the bad times.
Just my opinion.

IMO his brother phil was a far better and more talented player anyway.

And a MUCH nicer human being too

Phil retired. He was actually at Penrith Stadium watching the game against
the Storm, and he came back to the after match function, and sat with
Gower and Girds.

I called out hello to him, and as always, he turned with a big smile on his
face and waved to me. Bloody good bloke is Big Phil.

Shame his good attitude never rubbed off on his arrogant little brother.

Phil played a year at St Mary's A-Grade, and then gave the game away. He had a lot of ability, but was a bit lazy in defence.

I reckon we should play Big Artie in the centres. The centre of the toilet bowl and flush the galoot back to Bondi

It might flush some sense back into him to Fibro...I think Artie needs a fulltime nurse to administer his pills on time. ;-)

At least Adamson used to charge into the opposition. Not like big Artie Beetson, who used to belly flop into them and try and pop up a pass before he copped any real treatment.
