If this is not just loo paper talk then the Dragons will have an awful lot to answer for . As said by others the young bloke shall improve in his 2 nd season - undoubtedly shall . Our back line will be explosive next season with the addition of Pearson , the Fijian lad , Pierre and Duffy and they wish to destroy it before a ball is kicked in the new year ?

Surely they would not throw Duffy to the wolves so as to sign Hayne , there must be more to it then what we are hearing. This is one player that will come back to haunt us for years on end if ever he plays in another teams colours .

Very dissapointing if even remotely true !! Once again comes down to the coaching staff - why hasnt said deficiencies been worked on whilst he was learning in ISP ?? Surely one on one with a mentor would have been beneficial and WHY would he play 1st grade this year if things were that dire
we all agree he is a confidence player and when we were blitzing it early young Matt was killing it also with back up breaks etc . when we slumped well he did too ( and pretty well the entire squad ) last game against the broncs he was good. Give him a mentor ( slater ) and watch him go definitely this kid at the moment is a keeper Give me another good centre to partner lomax the peedsters we have signed and another bustling prop and we are good ( on the field )

IF Dufty is being shopped around, and I mean IF, then it has more to do with other stuff rather than with a few deficiencies in his game.

Coaching staff can work on deficiencies, oops sorry ours are an exception, may I present exhibit A - Euan Aitken. So, really there's more to it than what's being reported. Maybe something more with the James Graham incident during the latter part of the season? Dufty has always had an attitude and it could be that he doesn't think he needs any coaching at all.

I'm sure the club wont release any details other than what's already known if they want a buyer for him.

Sorry, back on track.
Dufty is a talent. BUT we as fans do not know what happens behind closed doors. Who knows, maybe he is a lazy player. Maybe he isn't. Whatever happens though, I hope if they do choose to move Duff on there is an absolute cracker of a replacement because you don't let Dufty go and replace him with a lomax or field thats for sure.

Millard always plumped for Field so maybe it is about to come to fruition and no other considerations will be entered into.
Mc Fookknuckle wanted Duges and lost out so maybe he doesn't get a say on this either?

If it is true that we are shopping Dufty around because he is " Lazy off the ball " are they serious ? . That is more a reflection of our inept coaches inability to coach / man manage our younger players .
What about we shop Mary around because he is a complete buffoon ...It makes more sense .

I have been told that Millward doesn't rate Dufty.
I don't know how much this affects the situation though.

Jesus , off the ball ? I recall his first 10 games when he did come through the ruck but to no avail as the coaches didn't permit offloads. No wonder he stopped doing it.Noticed he started to do it again when Lucky came into the side. Very very conservative coaching ( because they have no innovative ideas ) has stunted our sides development.

Dufty is still learning his role and I'm sure he will be a better player next season.
It will boil down to what his manager thinks he is worth and what Saints see what he is worth.
I think the scoop by the Mole is just paper talk so we just need to wait and see how the off season player movement goes
It is not paper talk, it is player manager marketing as off contract this year, journos think they have mates in every side giving them all the inside mail about the inner sanctum but they are drip fed by the player managers for their own and clients agendas. Whilst some of it is fact the journos are the one stop shop for getting info out as needed.

It is all starting to fall into place. WTC said on the Jubilee Avenue site that we were chasing one of the biggest names in the NRL that would fix one of our weaknesses. He also said that a player would be let go and that it would be a shock to many of us. Hayne is obviously the "one of the biggest names in the NRL" that WTC was referring to. Now it appears that Dufty could be the one that may be being let go. I was hoping that Aitken was the one who we would be letting go.

I know that Dufty isn't the complete finished product yet, but I still see so much potential in him. I would like to see Slater mentor him. I even question if Hayne would be an upgrade on Dufty at this stage of his career. Hayne's best days look to be behind him, while Dufty's best days are ahead of him.

Maybe there may be something behind the scenes that the pubic are not privy too regarding, why we are letting Dufty go.
