Just heard on the news this morning that Matt Orford has been offered a Million dollar plus deal to move to England. If he goes, will we play Kieran at half back or will we bring up Trent Hodgkinson ?? What do you all think will happen,. ???????

what i think will happen is: orford will stay, take up way too much money again and put in mediocre performances all year. also miss out on a promising up-and-comer

what i'd like to see is: orford go

Manly has had months to sign Orford but no doubt believe his value to the club has diminished to what to what he was earning on his last contract. I felt sure for some time now the club wanted a change of personnel in the half back role. As much as I see Orford as a good half back I tend to agree with the club. There are good young halfs running around (Ballin) is one of them, with a good chance of a successful future in the game.

You guys must be looking for a halfback. Could be worth getting Foran's brother over here although still doesn't help with the experience factor but it would be cool having brothers in the halves.

Manly need all of Orford's money just to upgrade and try to re sign Watmough, Stewart, Perry and some others - won't be a bad thing for them if they keep the others.

a fair loss but ox was starting to go stale IMO, only risk is no real experinced halfbacks to take over, foran is great but I would have liked to give him a year or so to develop more.
that being said he could come out next season n set the house on fire.

If I were a Manly fan I would be celebrating....his playmaking options were poor last year and he is money grabber to boot.

Keep with the young halves pairing and re-sign your core players.

Has he ?

According to press reports he has and he was selected in the Qld Residents team. He played with plenty of wraps as a junior as well. So hopefully for Manly he is up to it.

But from the games I saw him play live, I think his defence is tragic and I think he is a long way off NRL standard. I will admit he does have a good kicking game.

Time will tell and we won't have to speculate any further.
