Matt Rogers Might Return

I ran into a mate the other day who has it on good authority that one Matt Rogers has expressed an intrest in returning to the black, white and blue. It is belived that if Australia wins the RaRa world cup he will return to the sharks. My mate was told that Matt had stated that if he was part of a Wallaby side that won the world cup he would be happy to make a return to Shark Park.
I hope this info is right I guess we will have to wait month or two to find out.

Sounds pretty bloody good to me, Slap him in the Centre's with Vagana or I'd be more than happy to see him at fulback with the ageing Peach getting the heave ho.

Dont know how tempting the old sharkies would look to him though with all the drama's of late.

I serioously doubt it. Why would he leave the Wallabies when he is in the spotlight for winning the RWC?

Maybe he wants to win the RWC & an NRL grand final ring all within a year of each other.

Shoot me, I'm a dreamer

Here's why it won't happen:

1 - Australia won't win the world cup.

2 - Even if they do, he's not interested in making a return to league.

I know a couple of the Wallabies players and they tell me that Mat is totally committed to the Wallabies and has no thoughts of returning to rugby league. Well, no thoughts that he has told to anyone else in the team anyway.

Consider this little rumour well and truly quashed and nothing more than wishful thinking.

Didn't they move him out of 5/8 in Rar Rar because he kept forgetting the moves  . From what I have heard he loves it in Rar Rar as he doesn't do much training wise and can get on the piss a lot but he has supposed to of stopped all the big nights over the last year or so and really got down and did some work. I'd love to see it happen and I think there is a small chance but I highly doubt it would happen.

And if he did come back he'd go to fullback, with next season being Peacheys last...But he won't. His body isn't up to it IMO

Peachey has one more contract left in him.

Even still he'd stay another year just to surpass Healey as second in all time games for Cronulla. Healey played 222, Peachey ATM has 191.

Tamazoid - I don't think anything is set in stone. If he has an excellent season then it wouldn't surprise me if he stayed for one extra year, but otherwise I think 2004 will be his last year for the Sharks.

All of you failed to mention the fact that he doesn't like opes!! and there'll be next to no chance of him considering a comeback to the club while CA is there. Unless the payout is a foregone conclusion and Stuey Rapes takes over.

Reefies next worse prediction.
If Matt goes back to league he will play for a QLD team.
;-)

Why wouldn't he be playing for the Reds then?
