Matt Sing Tribute Thread

probably one of the only complete players in the nrl today, matt sing is the best winger ive seen in my career of watching league, great signing for hull fc, he may be 31, but he still isnt past it imo

Sing has played 272 games roughly, i hope he will see his 300th, he has done everything in league, that is the only thing left to acheive for the lad

Matt Sing has Scored More Than 150 Tries in his career, and has probably saved that many in his career as well, with a very low percentage of him letting in tries, his defence is like a brick wall, i very rarely saw a weakness in his game

Sing, has played 15 Tests, 25 Origin Matches and 270+ first grade games

he was more a defensive player, a bit quiet in attack, but he knows how to link with playmakers, and more importantly, can score single handedly

Matt Sing has been a great player to watch, and the nrl will miss him, especially the cowboys

Amen.
He's always been one of my favourite players, such a reliable, consistent winger. He will be sorely missed by the cowboys.

great thread

Never liked him much to be honest, mainly cause he played for Penrith (didnt like them at the time), Roosters (Never liked them) and Queensland (im a blue)

But since he went to the cowboys ive come to really admire him as a player, saves more tries then any other winger, and can score them aswell. Been a pleasure watching matty sing

Matt is a down right legend, he will be severely missed up here in the North. Best of luck to Matty and his career in England, it was a pleasure seeing him in the Cows colours. :D

I still have memories of Matt Sing saving 2 or 3 tries in Origin 3 in 1995.

He has been a great servant of the game and deserved all the accolades he received. He wore his QLD and Australian jerseys with pride and always seemed to grow an extra leg when playing for state and country.

Sadly, he never won a premiership. If there was one reason I would like to have seen the Cowboys win last year and/or this year, it was to see him get a premiership ring!

Matty is a true legend.

Watching him at Penrith was awesome.

Watching him at the Roosters was painful...but still a pleasure.

Watching him at the Cowboys has just been insane what he was done.

A true gentleman, a team player and a great influence to young players.

A great player - I don't recall any off-field issues to go with that and I'd assume a good influence for the younger brigade in Queensland.

159 tries by my count, equal 4th with Steve Menzies, behind Irvine 212, ET 165, and Lamb 164.

Easily one of the best wingers I've ever seen, top player all round. Just wish he stayed at the Roosters. Bet Matt Utai won't be missing him though

Ahh yes Ill never forget that semi, he virtually won the game for the Cowboys. He was fired up too, when he pulled Utai over the sideline. Then the final try, he lept high to win them the game.

Certainly one of the best wingers Ive seen, I remember he was in the centres at the Roosters, it was tough times in his final years there. But it was good he turned his career around, and played Origin and Test matches.
