I reckon Matt Utai has made more metres in 4 games than Fitzhenry did in his last 2 seasons at the Tigers, going forward that is,not sideways or backwards.

Don't be using the "F" word now.

Mini Tuiaki....almost. Takes the pressure off our soft forwards.
Good purchase for the money, runs hard, but has suspect hands and vertically challenged - about 100 times the player Fitzhenry was.

HAHHAHAHHAH

You guys can't be serious. Matt Utai has to be the worse player in the NRL. He would have to be worse then Talanoa

Because of one quiet game last night and a mistake or two?
Have you even watched any games this season?
He's been very, very good.

Let's not kid ourselves, Utai is far too slow for a winger. The Broncos wingers are just as strong but far faster.

We need to promote our good young wingers to give Marshall and Lui incentive to throw the ball wide.

Utai had the opportunity down the left wing in the first half but lacked the pace and had to come back inside. Not good enough for the NRL. Ryan is even worse.

Agree 100% put McKinnon at one and you have the slowest back three in the world. Cant fault his drive but you have to have speed

Nah I haven't watched any games this year, although I covered the tigers v broncos match for league unlimited live updates....Utai is hopeless. slow and old.

Utai would be one of the last players who should be criticised this year. I suggest open your eyes when watching the game.

It must drive Benji insane having the worlds slowest backline playing outside of him, but some of our fans seem to think it`s ok to be an average side.

I'm glad others supporters agree with me about pace on the wings and even at fullback. Brown saved McKinnon from disaster in the Souths game when a ball was kicked into the in-goal. McKinnon was caught out of position and was too slow to react and too slow to get to the ball. The anticipation of Brown saved him.

Utai, McKinnon and Ryan comprise the slowest back three in the NRL. Moltzen has copped a lot of criticism but he adds pace and attacking flair to an otherwise slow backline. The presence of Lawrence, Lote and Tuiaki has hidden the problem

Exactly!!!

Why do some of these supporters think that Sheens is persisting with Moltzen at the back?
He knows we cannot possibly win the competition with a slow boring fullback such as McKinnon at the back.
If Moltzen doesn`t quickly start to show that he will attack the high ball & run the ball back hard then he`s no good to us as a fullback either, but if he doesn`t work out it has to be either Jake Mullaney or Mitch Brown as our fullback if we are to be any chance of winning the competition.

I`m sure some will try and respond by saying Wade McKinnon made 200m Vs the Roosters blah blah blah, Beau Ryan will also make us 150+ metres every week playing fullback, but similar to McKinnon he`s got no ball skills & not fast enough or strong enough to make an impact from fullback.

If speed was all you needed to be a good winger/fullback then Chris Walker would have been a superstar.

He isn't the only player that should be criticised, I know that. How can you watch a game with your eyes closed. very logical

Hybrid, while you continue to ignore the painful truth, you can't expect the best from the team. Utai, Ryan and McKinnon all need to go.

Look at the 20s, lots of pace, skill and size. New players are needed now.

Good point, but are you underestimating experience & knowledge? Taking those three out will virtually gives us no regular first grade experience in the backs, isn't that a bit risky, or do you see these three as the reason we are going bad? I think the whole team need to look at there attitude, it sucks.
I mean Lui & Ayshford are still learning, Moltzen seems to be still searching for his confidence, only leaving you Brown & Marshal, Tiquiri isn't far away from coming back, but Lawrence, well who knows.
Blood the youngun's by all means, but too many at once will lead to disaster.
Problem is.... we brought no experience this year (except for Utai), maybe the injury toll is high, but so are other teams?

When Lawrence and Tuquri are back this argument will be null and void.

If speed is all you need to be a good fullback or winger then Joven Clarke would have been an immortal. There is more to the game than pace, especially defensively.

Also Ryan should not be in first grade at all because in addiition to being slow he also offers nothing else.

Utai and McKinnon may not be fast but they would be two of the last players who deserve criticism this year.
