I'd like to borrow them too. I was sober when I saw the game and his post mortem is quite different from mine. He saw positive signs and encouraging play. He must have been talking about the first division game because everything I saw was woeful. Finch passed the ball to the touchie and Robertson ran into touch on the first tackle and Manuel held the ball out asking for it to be kncoked out of his hands and surprise, surprise, it was. Finch was booed after the game and although a little harsh, his performances have been pretty bad since the Newcastle catastrophe. Apparently the locals are none too happy with the decision to keep Finch and let local favourite Andrew Macfadden leave the club.

Elliot always says something along simmilar lines. The only bagging he has given was when he bagged himself after the Dragons game.

The booing mostly came when Brett Finch was named Raiders man of the match ahead of Schif. It was mostly out of frustration but it was not something that should of happened. I can cop the whole team getting booed after a bad performance but to direct it a t one individual and a 20 year old at that was a bit much.

I read that Matt Elliot wants to tie Finch to the club long term. In the same column, Finch really didn't sound like he wants to stay at the club.

Maybe the fans have a problem with the club keeping Finch because his old man is the football manager and in the same breath they are letting Andy go. I'd be pissed off too. I also agree about Woolford. He has been very disappointing as captain. His great dummy half runs have disappeared and his game is really starting to suffer.

There's no way Brett Finch's performance has dropped since the Newcastle game, people are just still holding a grudge from a mistake that he's already paid for. The two following games after the Newcastle mistake he lost his confidence a little but that was all and since then he's been working his arse off to make up for it. As for people getting cut for Clinton not getting man of the match, he got it the week before, you can't give it to him every week. And besides that Brett deserved it. 15 minutes into the game Michael Monaghan was injured and Brett had to play double as hard for the loss of the half back. I think Brett is a huge asset to the team.

In the past I have been quite harsh on Finch for some of the things he has done, but I would never boo an individual player even if I wanted to. I know it has been a steep learning curve for Finch this year and I hope we see a more mature, refined player next season.

You will legend, hopefully the fans will give Brett another chance next year and give him some support. I have been to every home game of the Raiders this year and since the Newcastle mistakeBrett has been abused and blamed for everything. If it was Clinton making those mistakes he'd be forgiven but coz' its Brett Finch, the son of the manager, people won't leave him alone. I think it takes a lot of courage for him to stay with the Raiders, I say good on him. Last week I even saw Mark O'Meley patting Brett on the back when some lady was abusing him when he walked back into the stadium at the end of the game. I was embarrassed to be in the crodwd.
