McGuire OUT, Pryce to 5/8

NRL.com is reporting McGuire has been ruled out.

Pryce at 5/8 should at least give the Poms better combination in the halves. Will be interesting to see if they can offer anything. Something tells me it may be a blessing in disguise.

Not the end of the world for GB. I assume Rayner will go to the wing. Makes you wonder if that is why he was the 18th man to start with. It sounded a bit strange that Rayner was on standby because Fielden was in doubt. Surely if Fielden was in doubt Carvell would be the 18th man.

Raynor is now on the wing. I hope most of the crowd don't think that Raynor on the wing is Leon Pryce. Poor old Gareth may be wondering what he did to deserve all this abuse !!

I think that it's actually good for GB
McGuire didn't offer much last week
A question for the British fans: does he actually create many tries in the SuperLeague?

yeah, Pryce will be interesting at 5/8

McGuire is a bit of an enigma really, moments of brilliance interspersed with long periods of mediocrity

Maguire was good last week, offered plenty of spark - he's the kind of player the Poms desperately need and will be missed.

At least it gets Pryce in there though, wasted outside Keef.

Yeah Mcguire is a loss...

Though I'm interested to see how Pryce goes at 5/8. Might offer something. I thought the halves combo was terrible last week and their only weakness.

The poms played too deep and flatwhen going plus two and thus the runner off mcguire was struggling to time his run off the 5/8 and getting hammered by the advancing defence.

It's all well and good to go wide but your halves, starting with your half back have to take your forward and straight. Maybe Pryce can solve this via his combo at club level with Long.

Heres hoping.

McGuire is a handy attacking weapon but GB need a second reciever who is going to distribute the ball where it needs to go. He might chime into the attack when there is a bit of space but they need someone to create more space. Pryce was just about GB's best last week from the wing and his combination with Long should make his switch to 6 a positive one for GB. Of course if they'd picked Briers and/or Cooke they'd be laughing.

I'd add Gleeson and Carney and their fetish for the sidelines to the list of weaknesses

he can create tries, but he prob scores more than he creates. He is an excellent support player, would prob be better suited to full back a la brent webb or matt bowen imo.

I've suggested that as well..

I think its something they should consider.

I don't think Pryce will get the outside backs more involved. From what I've seen he passes less than McGuire.

It might be a good move. Pryce certainly won over a lot of English fans this season.

Wilkin - second row/lock

ha! At last the RL gods are smiling on us!

Pryce at 6 is a move I've been wanting for ages. He'll create space for the outside men by drawing in loads of Aussies.

How dumb is Noble saying 'it actually makes us stronger'?! Why didn't you play him there in the first place then you doughnut!

Much better side this week. I almost feel sorry for the Aussie pigs!

Personally I was quite happy with how Yeaman lined up against Lyon in the SL grand final... the pieces are falling into place for this to be a contested game.
