Going to Melbourne with friends for the long weekend. Are there any pubs that will televise the Bulldogs-Souths game @ 4pm on Friday?

I think you mean "Melbourne pubs that show the Channel 9 delayed game on less of a delay than usual?"

and yeah, answer is no.

In the past the Crown Casino has shown live NRL games in their sports bar. They were games on fox though. If its channel nine you might be in trouble

Yeah, I saw a live game on TV in the sports bar there when I last visited. Fox.

The match is live on Gem @ 3.30pm. I imagine most pubs will have Gem, so I'm sure any establishment will be keen to put it on for you if you ask!

Yeah, The Station in Prahran is good pub and close to the train station, and there's another in Richmond but can't remember the name.

You might be alright in Melbourne, cause there's no AFL on that day, and if pubs are willing to show matches on GEM.

On that topic, Ive seen live games in Melbourne in a few pubs, mainly on Fox of course. If you can put up with 30 people watching AFL on the giant screen, and screaming their heads off, while you have to watch the NRL on the smallest TV in the pub, or at best on occasions in the TAB, you'll be sweet.

There is a pub in Richmond which owns a f**k off huge satellite dish and picks up live broadcasts of Rugby League from Interstate. That's your best bet (if it's open) which it probably wont be on Good Friday.

Is it the Cricketers Arms?

If you ring a pub in Richmond and ask if they're showing the NRL, they'll probably point you in the right direction if they're not.

Just google search - you'll find there are loads there.

You would be lucky on Good Friday- big charity even down in Melbourne, I forget the name. That said if you go to Crown Casino they could probably put it on for you in the Sports Bar...it is on GEM

The Town Hall Hotel in Richmond is a Rugby & League pub through and through, they're always happy to oblige with putting the games on if you ask and they'll often have it on the big screen with the AFL relegated to the corner, as it should be!

Check if it is open Good Friday though. That is the place though.

We went to the Limerick Arms Hotel when we were down last year. Good pub with a great atmosphere. They had it on the big screen. leagueofourown.net says they are showing all friday and sunday games.
