In what is great news for Rabbitohs Ticketed Members, ANZ Stadium, the Rabbitohs and the Parramatta Eels have confirmed today that South Sydney Ticketed Members will retain their reciprocal rights to the Round 15 fixture against the Eels to be played at ANZ Stadium in Sunday afternoon football on Sunday 23 June at 3pm.
Following the release of the 2013 NRL Draw, South Sydney were not allocated a home match against the Eels, however under an agreement between the Clubs and ANZ Stadium in regards to Member reciprocal rights for all matches between the two great Sydney rivals, Parramatta have agreed that reciprocal rights will remain in place for Rabbitohs Ticketed Members for the 2013 season.
The Rabbitohs have confirmed that the return will apply in 2014 if the complexities of the NRL draw mean that the Eels are not afforded a home match against South Sydney in that season.
“One of the cornerstones of the NRL Membership model is the opportunity for our tenant Clubs to take up the opportunity to not only attend their scheduled home matches, but the additional matches provided through the reciprocal arrangement,” ANZ Stadium Managing Director, Daryl Kerry, said.
“This is great news for both South Sydney and Parramatta Members as it will ensure the Round 15 game is a blockbuster, in terms of crowd support and excitement among the Membership bases of both Clubs.”
Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson added: “As a Club we would like to thank Ken Edwards and Daryl Kerry, and their respective teams at the Eels and ANZ Stadium, for going ahead with the reciprocal rights agreement, thus giving our Ticketed Members another opportunity to see their team at ANZ Stadium, this time in Sunday afternoon football.
“Last year we had almost 40,000 Members and supporters of both Clubs come to ANZ Stadium to watch us take on the Eels in our two games last year, and we’re sure that this season’s round 15 game will be a popular one with our Members and supporters as well.
“Our Members have shown they will get right behind the team at all opportunities, and we’re sure they will take this opportunity to come out in numbers on a Sunday afternoon and support the team in red and green.”
