Do the fans have much of a say in the Manly club now that it is private? Are there major concerns about the ownership structure and how that affects the fans will? Of the current fans will many be renewing their memberships?

I'm interested in the club strictly in a business capacity. I'm not posting these questions to take pot shots.

The average memeber has more of a say.

Before it was hard to be a member as you had to be nominated by 2 current members. And then you had to wait 2 years before gettiung voting rights.

Now all fans can join and get voting rights.

Even tho Max owns most of the football team the members own the logo etc and have sole voting rights in issues of name, logo, colours and location.

As this is the major concern of private ownsership i think this is a very good thing for the club.

The fan club also holds the preferrential share which control team colours, playing locations ect.

A lot of members no longer have a vote in their club,just email a few clubs and ask about memberships,at their clubs...you pay to be a supporter,not a member....You have no say in the running of your club.....no voting rights. :evil:

NOT the case at Manly. Delmege has been quite magnimonious in this regard.

Then other thing which i should of added is that the members get 2 seats on the board. 2 are voted by share holders - Max ATM, and 2 by the leagues club.

As members can be members of both the Football club and LEague club it is possiable to have infuluence on 4 of the 6 seats on the board also.

The way this has been set up with Max is so much better then the deal which was put forward by Penn at the start.
