Hang on, Coldwell signed on to be the back of jersey sponsor for 2010. See below. Maybe thay are still negotiating with them to upgrade to become the new major sponsor. I think this whole one game deal thing you are talking about is just to be the front of jersery sponsor for one game for the members promotion because we currently do not have one. Its not a one game sponsorship on total.

As aforementioned, this is only in relevance to the Front Jersey sponsor. Not the back.

Other clubs have promoted a charity on the front of jerseys while waiting for a major sponspor to come on board. Unless there is more money from caldwell for advertising on the front - I'd have preferred to see the mcgrath foundation or similar.

Agreed on all fronts.

Whilst the message of your post is true, your tone however, is obtuse.
Standard marketing nouse, embraces the value of critical mass. People dont go to empty cafes. People dont invest in start ups.
There is safety in numbers. This is good work by the club to turn around the basket case we were less than 12 months ago.
haha, nothing blunt about my tone. If anything my tone was one more of dissapointment. At this point they have not turned the corner yet. They still lack a major sponosor. Is this a floor in the new teams nous, or is the brand that damaged from the previous year?

It is me, NRL sites are terrible really, especially the ones on bigpond. Ugly as, short on functionality, links quite often do not work.

At least they fixed the site so I could renew my membership.

I am a member for 2010.

Interesting seems Trent will captain, 'ol Dougy must not have the right face. Blake prominent as is Toops, Gallen still the heart in the background.

SFP, the Cov and John Morris.

Interesting............

yeah mate got the interstate one, don't really need anything from it, just want to contribute.

I ain't buying one of those jerseys.

I will be getting a Cov kid club or alike for my nephew, his dad lost the battle to make him a Bronco, he wants to be a shark. So for his birthday in November he will get one.

But not one of those ugly jerseys. I will get him something from the sharks shop, if the f**ken web site works at the time.

I feel the same way, I love the idea of it, but that jersey is horrible. Wish they were running out in the retro jersey with the members names, I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

lol

His dad does try his best to make him like the broncos, and even worse richmond.

The kid already thinks AFL is for pansies, dad gave up quick there.

But no matter how hard dad tries, the boy loves his sharks, and loves watching them with uncle angry.

OOOOhhhhhhh Luke Covell he has mastered. Gets a little jig going and everything. His dad can't help but laugh.

He loves the Gall too, cause to quote him "he is tough hey"

Are you sure now because as Frenzy asked you, your posts on the previous page clearly sound like you are saying it was only a one game sponsorship deal, which it is not. Coldwell signed on as the back of jersey sponsor with options for 2011/12 some time ago.

Are you telling us that from the info you have been given that Caldwell is only a one game sponsor?

Or is it that they are only on the front of the jersey for one game?

Yup, from the info I was given, Caldwell is (at this stage) only locked in to that one-game, one-jersey deal. The club told me it could be the case that Caldwell signs on as the major sponsor between now and January but at this stage they are only sponsoring the Member's Jersey.

Didn't make sense to me. How many other sponsor's would really be happy with sharing "jersey duty" with another company, particularly on opening night?

I definitely felt that there was an element of "political correctness" from the club during our conversation. Like they knew that Caldwell was going to be the major sponsor, but they didn't want to confirm or deny it, meaning one of two things:

1. They haven't completely ironed out the terms and conditions of the deal.

2. They are holding out for a better offer in the next eight weeks.

Likely to be the first, as the board were desperate to lock up all sponsorships before Christmas.

Re Sponsorship.

I have heard from a pretty good source that 'something' has been done re a major sponsor, and they are holding out until pre-season 2010 (not post 2009) to announce it. Similar to what Souths did with NAB when they got that signature.

I dont know who the company is, but its not CB.

On reflection we have had some pretty heavy hitters as our major sponsors in recent memory.

- LG
- Pepsi
- Reebok

All of those companies are billion dollar multinationals. Ill be interested to see what happens.
