To the previously mentioned Smith, Wagon and Vella,

The three previously mentioned people have copped plenty from me this year........some, more than others.

It is way too early for me to back down from anything I have said which I still believe, but.....
I would just like to say congratulations today on a performance full of heart, integrity and passion.

I have given schlock to Wagon and Vella more than any one else.
It was amazing what Daniel did today at 5/8th with a bit of space and confiction. Back yourself more often boy.
Vella impressed me greatly with his intensity and enthusiasm. You have it in you......just do it.

And it was uncharacteristic of Brian to show such emotion. Just goes to show how much pressure he was feeling.......and rightly so as well.

I can see how much last weeks win meant to them all. I can also see there is a hell of a long way to go.

The basis of this thread is basically that...... I have no problem congratulating the underperformers.......when they perform.

It also goes to show what we can do when our forwards REALLY PUT IN.

I sincerely mean it.

Firstly, wedgies are good.

Secondly, my opinion was based solely on your avatar.
I wouldn't really have a clue whether you like Merlin or not.
BTW, I don't.....but I like your avatar. ;-) :)

hahaha i just want to free the refugees. much like i've wanted burt to release the talent we all know he's so capable of... you know, like the burt we saw today

anyway, back to your post. wagon is getting better and better and i am starting to remember why he was chosen in the australian squad a couple of years ago. i had seriously forgotten why

the thing that made today's victory most great was the fact we did it without hindy. it was a real team effort. wagon didn't make 40 tackles, he only made 19 and he played better than ever. if you share the work around it gives everyone a greater chance to shine. imagine how good hindy would be in attack if he only had to make 20 tackles per game

with the amount of ball we had we did not need to make huge tackle counts

would have been interresting to see how Hindy would have played if he did not have to make 50 tackles

It's pretty scary we did that without Hindy, Cayless, Vaealiki, Peek, Grothe, Petersen Etc, imagine if we keep this form til they come back? they may be in PL.

I am here to say that ,although I have been one to bag Michael Vella in the past( be it privately and not so publically) I believe he was one of the best players yesterday and deserves a big rap!He seemed to be everywhere in defence and attack :eek:All of you who saw me at the game will know how excited I was

I agree with all you said Suitos. The thing that really mystified me in that dark period was that we knew that they had it in them but for the life of them they couldn't bring it out and perform.

Just goes to show what abit of heart, guts and pride can do.

I am not getting too carried away by that win....but hell it sure is better winning by 40 than getting pumped by 40.

I usually don't by into the "confidence" argument...can be mistaken for application....but I have to say this was confidence at its best today.

Vella, Wagon and the rest of the team can hold their head high this week, they put everything into the game yesterday, and even though it was only Manly, if that have been the Bulldogs or Roosters we would have won that game (not by 40) because of the pride in the jersey and the fact that everyone on that park contributed for the first time in a long time!!!!!

And Mckinnon, how long has it been since we have had a fullback who can make try saving tackles, he made atleast 3 yesterday, he may not have all the class of Hodgson but he has more heart and his defense has been GREAT!!!!!!!
