Been going through the metal radio stations on the Apple TV radio. There is seemingly a very large collection and variety. Am currently stuck on thrash metal - rock radio.com
It's pretty awesome so far.

Anyone listened to these stations and can recommend any?

Same with iTunes Radio if anyone has bothered going through them?

Just started listening to In Hearts Wake. Another Byron Bay product. Not too bad if you are into the newer style of metal getting around that is the metalcore/hardcore genre. They are are a bit of a cross breed between Periphery and The Amity Affliction

*cue people saying metalcore is not metal.*

Saw KsE tonight, bloody awesome as usual. Great band, they played a nice little smattering of stuff from every album.

Oh and Kill Devil Hill opened, not bad but not really my kind of metal. If you shut your eyes it was like listening to that fake band from the movie Rockstar 'Steel Dragon', high pitched vocals, pinched harmonics every 20 seconds. The band could use with a 2 guitarists. IMO unless you are dimebag darrell, than you can't carry a band with only one guy on guitar, as good as a bass player Rex Brown is, there was a massive void during the solos that another guitar would have filed quite nicely. Also a lot of their songs were a bit too slow, their up tempo ones were pretty good but there were a few yawn moments.

They ended with Mouth For War which was to be expected with Rex on bass.

Yeah I was at KSE last night too. Third time I've seen them and that's the best they've sounded. Much better with Jesse back IMO.

Didn't mind Kill Devil Hill. They were good for what they were.

Disagree mate. I've seen them 4 times, 2 with Howard and 2 with Jesse. Last night was the best vocals from any of their gigs. Jesse's roars were better than both times Ive seen Howard. I hope your not basing your opinion from Soundwave last year mate.

I have only seen them once yes at Soundwave.

But listening to their albums i prefer Howard. IMO his cleans are so much better.

It all comes down to who does My Curse better. And I think howard does.

I prefer Jesse's cleans TBH. Although I think they sounded better on Alive or Just Breathing rather than Disarm the Descent. Probably on Times of Grace too.

Outdoor festivals you need to take with a grain of salt, its like rocking up to a bowling alley and using a house ball, you are never going to go well without the use of your own gear/sound guys. I saw sevendust at SW brissy 2011 and they sounded like utter shit, saw them 4 days later in Melbourne at a sideshow supporting Stonesour at Festival Hall and I would have let them have my babies, they were phenomenal.

I always thought Howard was the better singer but last night did it for me, taking the emotion out of seeing a band live, it sounds like Jesse has spent a lot of time perfecting his voice and it's the best he's ever sounded.

My Curse? I reckon there are better songs to use to see a vocal range, Rose Of Sharyn, Last Serenade

I was disappointed they didnt play Holy Diver as an encore though...........

If you haven't used it before try the pandora app. It's awesome, you type in the name of a band you like and it plays songs from them and similar bands or bands from that era.

It's good for getting into bands you've never been arsed to buy albums of too.

Saw Killswitch in Adelaide the other night, freakin awesome. Best club show i'd seen in a long time. The drummer is a giant and looks like he's doing it all so effortlessly.

Just downloaded Devil You Know - The beauty of Destruction. Giving it a listen now. Pretty good. Its sitting at number 2 on the iTunes metal chart.

For those that dont know, the lead singer is Howard Jones (former Killswitch Engage vocalist)

Heard one song and it was pretty good. The drummer is John Sankey, an Aussie guy who played with Devolved.
