My favourite album right now has to be "Guiding Lighrs" by Skyharbor, an über-talented Indian prog/ambient metal band.

I disagree completely.

Each their own I guess mate but the prog direction they took for the blackening was cringeworthy.

The last one, whatever the f**k he was trying to vocally was a massive fail for mine.

There have been some pretty good albums released this year. I really like electric wizards "time to die" despite it being pretty much a typical electric wizard album. I listened to a lot of eyehategods self titled album at the gym. I've still got to get around to at the gates new one.

Everyone is raving about yobs album but its too sludgy even for me. I will have to give it a few more listens though. I'll do a top ten when I get home from my parents place.

Can;t remember if I ever posted this before, but I re-uploaded it yesterday with improved sound so prolly worth linking again. Its a video I made of NZ black/death metal band Vassafor's set at Evil Invaders V festival in 2013 and is hands down one o the heaviest, filthiest, most barbaric live sets I've ever witnessed. It was a one-off show where instead of their usual guitar/bass/drums lineup, singer/guitarist VK played a second bass instead, and the results are as heavy as f**k to put it mildly, two basses, no guitars and a ton of filthy evil distortion. Video was done with a couple of camcorders and a GoPro and the sound recorded straight from the mixing desk to a laptop.

My recommendations for you are Crossfaith, ragardless of your metal tastes these guys deliver big time. Super high energy that gets everyone going.
confession, a hardcore aussie band, saw them a few weeks ago, put on a good show and worth a go if you like hardcore.
Killer be killed - Soundwave will be their first ever live performance, they are a supergroup and have an awesome sound. Youtube their song snakes of Jehovah. Basically if you like soulfly, Dillinger escape or mastodon you will like these guys

I've just got into em, their lyrics are sometimes cringeworthy (think Limp Bizkit) but they've got some awesome heavy music and vocals. I've got past the bad lyrics issue and started to love them, much to annoyance of the Mrs haha.
