I have it on good authority (Okay, okay I heard it in the pub an hour ago) that Wigan have signed none other than Tim Jonkers.

I am disappointed in Tim as doing this somewhat destroys the legacy he left at Saints. He was written in history as a Grand Final hero and would somewhat write himself out of that by signing for Wigan.

But hey good luck to the lad. He hasn't got much hope of getting into the Salford team at the moment as they chase the Top 3 spot, so perhaps its his last real chance to cement a Super League career. According to my source:lol: Timmy trained with Wigan today and will make his debut against the Bulls.

I train with him at St Helens college but he will never tell anyone about he's future in Rugby untill it's official.

I asked him was he moving to Salford and he told me he was staying at Saints - got home and a hour later it was confirmed he had signed for Salford.

He's a great lad is Tim but certainly not a world beater and has gone backwards with injuries.

Confirmed, on loan for a month, and straight into Wigan's 17 man squad.

Wigan Warriors have today signed Tim Jonkers on a months loan from Salford City Reds.

With injuries to Iafeta Paleaaesina ,Gareth Hock, Scott Logan and Harrison Hansen, the Warriors have moved to strengthen the forward line ahead of Friday's game at Bradford Bulls.

Jonkers is 24 years old and is currently on the books at The Willows. He has also played under Ian Millward at St.Helens.

Jonkers will be given squad number 31.

Speaking about the addition Head Coach Ian Millward said,

"Tim will provide another body within our squad and will be in our line up for Friday's match at Bradford Bulls."

They signed Oliver Wilkes as well, a mate of mine watched him play last weekend for Whitehaven and said he was went very well.
This may be a positive for Wigan with more mature players coming in aged in their mid 20's rather than calling up the 18 and 19 yo kids from the Academy.
