Been a good buy & will be missed. His form has been down, so maybe now his future is sorted he may finish the year off on a high especially if he is used as part of the prop rotation & not at lock.

Hope so, one last burst of form starting with the Dogs game.....we're going to need all our forwards to bring their A game.

St George Illawarra have been dealt a significant blow to their forward ranks with English prop Mike Cooper to leave the club at the end of the season.Cooper will return to the UK with his former club Warrington Wolves on a three-year deal.
The 27-year-old admitted Dragons’ coach Paul McGregor was “shocked and disappointed” but said he respected the decision.
“It was a hard decision to make but both my partner and I have decided that is what is best for our young family is to return home at the end of the year,” Cooper said.
“It’s not a decision that we have both taken lightly and we both spent a lot of time thinking about what was best moving forward for the three of us.
“We will have been here three seasons come the end of the year and that is a long time to be away from family and friends, especially when you have a young child.
“[McGregor] has brought me on in leaps and bounds as a player and I owe a lot to him and his staff.”
Cooper made his first-grade debut for the Dragons against Wests Tigers in the opening round of 2014, playing 60 games for the club.
The Dragons host Canterbury at ANZ Stadium on Monday.
Kick-off is at 4pm.

St George Illawarra have agreed to release Mike Cooper from the final year of his deal with the club allowing the English International to return home to the UK next season.
Cooper's current playing contract was until the end of the 2017 season but the club has agreed to the request on compassionate grounds.
Cooper is tipped to return to his local club the Warrington Wolves in the UK Super League.
“Paul McGregor was a bit shocked and disappointed but I can’t credit him enough as he respects the decision and understands the reasons completely.
“He has brought me on in leaps and bounds as a player and I owe a lot to him and his staff.”
Cooper made his first-grade debut for the Dragons in the opening round of the 2014 campaign against Wests Tigers and has made 59 appearances to date.
“This request came as a surprise to us, we hoped and planned for Mike to be a part of our Club long-term," Dragons director of rugby league pathways, Ian Millward said.
"In saying this, we understand and respect his family situation and will honour his request.
"Warrington worked with us to enable Mike to come to the Dragons three seasons ago and we understand why they are keen for him to return.
“Everyone here knows how committed Mike is to finishing this season and his NRL career on a high.”

My sentiments precisely.
Very work man like, great engine, strong and mobile... and by all accounts really nice fella from those whom had met him. Good luck champ... Will be missed.

Out of the whole stupid policy of signing 250 reserve graders aged 27 to one year contracts he was the only one that paid off. When we signed him I called him a plank and marshmallow eater. It turned out he was neither. Good luck to him wherever he goes. We're worse off without him, which is not something you can say about many of our players.

He played out his contract, did it wholeheartedly , had good cause to leave ( family ), ... Nothing but respect. I am biased as I rate him very highly and think he filled many roles for our club. Nice post Dr.
