Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus are among four teams charged by Italian football federation prosecutor Stefano Palazzi for their alleged part in match-fixing. Those clubs, along with Lazio and Fiorentina, will go on trial in Rome next week on charges of sporting fraud.
They face possible relegation if convicted.
"Stefano Palazzi has announced 30 people or clubs, including Juventus, AC Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina for violations of articles 1 and/or 6 of the sporting code of ethics," the federation announced in a statement.
The announcement was made after the closure of the Milan stock market where three of the four clubs are listed.
Italy's national team qualified for the last 16 of the World Cup after beating the Czech Republic 2-0 in Hamburg this morning.
Thirteen members of the national squad play for the four clubs involved.
