This is ridiculous. Milford will end up playing for no-one this autumn just because the Aussies want their cake and eat it. He should be lining up for Samoa. As was mentioned, he has no chance of getting a game in the immediate future.

some very average players in that train on squad

not to mention injured players... i heard luke lewis at the weekend on triple m saying hes only just started strengthening work on his knee, riding a bike etc..and hes looking forward to a really good pre season to get fully fit for next year...

yet hes selected for internationals...i swear tim sheens just writes down whoever he wants....mr benson & mr hedges will get selected next!

Milford is Australian who is a chance to play for Australia. Whats the problem? Lets be honest, he only ever played for Samoa because he was no chance for Australia in the WC. Like most players who play for second tier nations.

I don't know why people are surprised. He skipped playing for Samoa this year to play for qld under 20's! Until we stop nation swapping, this is going to continue to occur more and more in the future.

And to the people saying that players should be allowed to play for their 'second' nation if they miss their first, that is not the way to grow international rugby league and Samoa have gained nothing from Milford if he deserts them.
If I were Samoa I wouldn't pick him ever again.

ppppsssstttt thats not how international sport works,he made the choice and played for samoa...that should be it...if he wants to play for australia then he has to wait till he's selected for australia not play for another nation till hes ready..simple

Hes a fantastic player. Best player 20 or under in the world. Youre too much of a stupid merkin to realise it though.

I didn't say he wasn't any good, yes he is one of, if not the worlds best u/20 player. He played about 3 or 4 decent NRL games this year (even then in patches only). Looking at u/20 players you'd also have to consider Luke Brooks, Mitch Cornish, David Klemmer, Michael Lichaa, Junior Paulo, Nene MacDonald, Corey Oates

So what position is he a remote chance to play for Australia ?

Not fullback, he'd be well back in the pecking order, nowhere near the 1/2's. He wouldn't even go close to making the extended squad for an Australian 2nd side.

I'm thinking you may be the true owner of the mantle you're wanting to give away.

The ARL are killing international football. Why not just select from the origin players that way everyone is free game. None of that 45 man train on squad. Imagine how much better the rest of the teams will be if they had access to there players.

So true, unfortunately it wouldn't help the English plodders. They're destined for another tournament of "what could have been", little do they realise they are just not up to standard. You would expect year after year of pastings, it would eventually sink in.

Lol, train on squad, in mind of selectors.

Simple message many have had, and will so again next year.

No issue here.

One game every few years, wow what an achievement.

When will your nation of plodders win anything of consequence in RL ?
