Meanwhile, The Daily Telegraph has been told that Finch was on the verge of becoming a Sea Eagle next season on a second-tier contract.

Finch was ready to accept a full-time role on Channel 7's The Matty Johns Show and play with Manly on a deal worth about $50,000.

He was a regular guest on the show over the back end of last season.

But the former Storm five-eighth had agreed to play with Wigan, although he had not officially signed a contract.

While tempted to remain in the NRL and live on Sydney's Northern Beaches, Finch felt he could not renege on his agreement and accepted the Wigan deal.

In all seriousness, both FINCH and FORAN are 5/8s. If Foran was to move to 7, I'd prefer Lyon at 6 with either Whare or Rex in the centres.

Our best option is and has always been Foran 6 DCE 7

I'd be absolutely filthy if Finch was given a starting spot over Foran or DCE.

Personally, I despise the guy and would find it incredibly hard to feel good about him playing for us, even if he was on 50K.

Having said that, we have f*ck all depth in the halves.

Personally I would love to have him. He's tough, has played in plenty of big matches, has a good passing game and can certainly talk it up on field. And I do admit he would suit our style of play well.

Not a huge miss but he would've been handy.

Lyon to 6 is a possibly, guys like Oldfield, Whare, Hopoate are knocking on the door for an outside backs gig.

I cringe at the thought of DCE being injured and throwing in yet another debutant as a replacement.

We have plenty of depth in the six and the entire backline tbh, but the seven worries me.
