Mission control update..

Well, it seems most have dropped off the rugby.com.au website. I know the site is terrible, although i worked out that it loads faster if u change your options to only read 1 days worth of posts at a time....
I know many are against these 'missions' (quote willow) but i have continued along a more liberal line. I have not raised the issue of league vs union, and have more or less taken the view of arguing aspects of the rahrah game in isolation. I recently posted a thread questioning the viability of the world cup being held in australia and i have so far attracted about 20 replys in an hour. Not one vicious reply yet, i think that some have come to the realisation that the ARU could be in trouble with this one. I have found it alot easier to talk when i leave the 'league' side out of it, criticising their game without mentioning league has proven a lot more successful...
i dunno how people feel about all this....but perhaps in a few weeks it will return when we go for a general sports page...but until then, keep fighting the good fight!!

MFC: It's only a small point but in quoting me you gave the impression that I am against these 'away missions'. I actually support them and often take part.
I know you know that but your wording gave the wrong impression.

Ozbash, the All Blacks will want to lift their game after what happened over in S.A if they want to beat the Aussies. I have to say though, it is a sad indictment on the other code if the current Australian team can be considered the best side in the world at the moment. I would'nt feed half the wallaby team. They are medicore at best. It does'nt really say much for the other countries does it now. Union has peaked and the quality of player is poorer than 7 or 8 years ago IMHO. Th revered and much fearedAll Blacks are a shadow of their former selves and are hardly dominant. Maybe for this reason the sport has become popular. There is no one dominant side at international level whereas the mighty Kangaroos are unchallenged as the best sporting team in the world next to our all conquering cricketers of course. Then theres..........

O.K. I propose that we halt the "missions" at the moment. We need to do this in order to discuss their purpose over with the whole community in depth. They'll only be fuitful missions if the whole community is behind it.

So, for the moment let's take it out of action and back into planning- so we do actually know what we're doing.

Cheers.

No worries Willow, i didn't mean to give the wrong impression ;)
Hass, that is probably a good idea. The last time i started it, (on both forums - WORL and this one) i only got a limited response which was disaapointing. If people want to have a discussion about it, then im more then happy to although i must say that it would probably be better if future 'missions' took place on general sports boards...
I still stick to my statement from the other night in the chatroom that Eales and Burke are horribly OVERRATED...They are paid way over the odds if you compared them to a league player on the same $$$. Even without that, they are still paying way overs....
