* Parramatta will be pleased to advise you that Paul Langmack has been appointed assitant coach

If that day ever came to pass that day would be when rugby league and I part ways.

Stop it 'mentary....just stop it please!!!

Sorry, but it IS Friday the 13th.

And with this 'great coach' in charge of our team, I think it's not completely unlikely.

I mean, he's quite happy to see young talent like the Armits go, and yet he signs people like Wagon and Pearson?

If your backrow is going to consist of players out of Hindmarsh, Morrison, Robinson, Afamasaga and Cayless, you may well be tempted to put it this way:

11. Hindmarsh
12. Cayless (C)
13. Morrison

14. Robinson

But no - our coach would put Morrison, a rep quality lock, into the second row to accomodate Wags!

I've nothing against Wags, it's just that apart from defense and solid hits, he does nothing else anymore.

Morrison has played a lot more second row over time than he has at lock 'Mentary. That being said Wagon in the middle at lock allows more creativity from the two second rowers in Morrison and Hindmarsh either side of the ruck. Its likely that Wagon in that rotation will be the player more often than not rotated. ;-)

Why Morrison wont play lock astounds me. Although Morrison has the ability to be able to play ahnywhere up front. Cayless needs to be a prop. He is no good to us leading from behind. Lead from the front caylo

One more thing, Corey won't play next year - thats straight from the horses mouth as his back won't let him go any longer.

I know he has let the Armit's go however look at who remains - Hauraki, Cordoba, Jack, Ben and Zeb Taia, Oake, Delaney, Hinchcliffe among others.

I know its Black Friday but lets juggle the positives a little as well....

OK, bad example Colonel. ;-)

If it were up to me, I'd have Wagon solely on the bench and start Mateo at lock. I believe he offers more in attack and defence than Wagon, and if he starts to tire or struggle put Wagon on.

Apart from defense, he really doesn't offer anything else. For a while (around the period we had our 'mini-revival', smashing Manly), he started to run good angles and have venom in his hit-ups. But recently he has just been a complete waste in attack.

He has been a waste in attack but I think that is because of our deficiencies in defense. He and Hindmarsh have had to do a hell of a lot of work - Hindy's metres have been down as well.

Next year is a fresh start and despite juniors going which is never a good thing, in the end we can't keep them all. (We should have kept Ryan and Tonga but IMO thats about it IMO). A new year, with or without a new coach, brings new possibilities. Yes, we are looking thin in one key area but what happens between now and 2005 we don't know and getting stressed about it loses more hair and makes you end up looking like Corey...... 8-[

That's true.

Even WITH Wagon at lock (who stiffles the attacking potency), he can help the back row defensively and allow Hindy and Morrison more attacking roles, which will no doubt help our cause.

We have a great mixture of size, strength, aggression and mobility in the props next year, with Robinson, Vella, Stringer, Cannings, Cayless, Tsoulos all vying for a spot.

Our hooker is an explosive line-breaking, tackle-busting ball player.

We have an AWESOME backline. Picture this:

1. McKinnon
2. Anderson
3. Tahu
4. Smith (he was disappointing against the Tigers, but is only young; he'll fill up Freshy's void easily, as he has more pace than Freshy did; can you imagine the size combination on this side?)
5. Grothe

I LOVE the look of that left hand side - Ben Smith and Eric Grothe, possibly the largest centre/winger pairing in the NRL.

Incidentally, does anyone know how tall Smith is? 'Cos he looks huge.

Between now, and kickoff 2005, I fearlessly predict:

Jamie Lyon will sign with the Wests Tigers

Brian Smith will be replaced as coach of the Parramatta Eels, and made a 'coaching director'

His replacement will either be Daniel Anderson or Matt Cameron

If Daniel Anderson is hired, PJ Marsh will join Parramatta. If not, MArsh will join Souths.

Denis Fitzgerald will 'resign' as CEO of the club. His replacement will come from in house - Tony Zappia perhaps?

Why the above? Well, don't you all think that it's all very very quiet at Eels HQ at the mo?

I think you've git 3.5 out of 5 there MB. I don't think there's any chance of getting rid of Fitzgerald, unless he secures a higher post somewhere in NRL administration. And I'm not sure exactly who Jamie will sign with? The rest are all quite possible...

Well I predict that Lyon will end up in St Helen's. ;-)

Seems I may have been close to the mark on this one - either that or their trolling for stories again!

BS to stay
DF to stay

Parra and BS promise the world early, then stumble, then bumble, then make a short-lived comeback, then dive, then comeback a little and beat the comp leaders and then fall deeper, then finish the year well, with injured players coming back and players being played in their correct positions

sound familiar - its been the same for the last 3 years?????????????? :?
