You're kidding he is the most overrated half in the competition, Soward gave him an absolute bath (yet again). Then again they haven't got any options, they have no talent in the Toyota Cup team judging by their pea hearted display tonight in going down 58 -10.

He has f**king heart!!

Roosters arent the most stunning team in the comp but they are young. 9 starters tonight under 21 years old! They have to build.

Its a shame you dont have a clue about rugby league or we could have a intelligent conversation, he is a raw but he has some skill!

Pity you can't read you merkin, I said their Toyota Cup Side showed no heart, not Pearce. I said Pearce is overrated and I stand by that. I also said that Soward gave him his second bath for the season, or is it third if you count the 58-18 trial match in Perth.

You be the judge:
Pearce: "Payed a very very good game tonight"
Soward: two tries, five goals, three try assists.

oh, and Soward's team won.

Our current team was always going to fall apart when an in-form and finals-bound team re-took the lead. A couple of dodgy calls didn't help our cause. We don't have the head space to deal with those things yet. Gee, you'd think Willie could do something there? The fact that we blew chances didn't help our spirits either.

Experience, skill and confidence were the major differences between the two sides last night.

And Gaba, the jury is still out on Pierce IMO. Obviously Soward destroyed Pierce. However at the same stage [as Mitchel] of his career, Jamie had a 50/50 split amongst supporters and critics. We all knew he had talent but the fact that the opposition forwards ran over him at will and just like Mitchel, some panic decisions (his rushed field goal attempts early in the tackle count against Wenty that perhaps cost his team a GF, comes to mind) raised question marks about his ability.

Time on the field, a great team, great coach - look at him now.

For us, I hope we persist with what we have, Pierce included and show some patience in stead of going for big signings. I think we should persist with Freddy. Chopping and changing personnel has never worked. Give Pierce the opportunity that Jamie should've had.

A very clinical and comfortable display by Saints. Enjoy the win.

I agree with Babyface,

I believe Pierce, will become first class in the not too distant future. He looks the goods to me and will only get better.

If he was showing improvement i would agree but he had over 50 games in the nrl, this is his 2nd year, and there is still no signs of him doing anything different, it looks like he is declining
, the roosters had the dragons on the ropes a few times where a decent halfback would have ran the ball for a penalty or try movement but pearce put the bomb up and the dragons got the penalty,

maybe if he had a deifferent coach then things will be different

Pearce, a 20 year old, is playing in a last placed side.. filled with youngsters [9 under 21] and coached by the inexperienced Freddy

Soward, 24-25 years old, is playing in a first placed side.. coached by the experience of Saint Benny

swap teams and you'll have the same results

why don't we go back to bagging Sowie when he was 20?

Also agree with babyface about Pearce. I think he'll be a 10 year NRL halfback and could well be considered for SOO in that time.

Disagree about Fittler though. The bloke can hardly string two words together, how's he supposed to communicate to his players? And as for discipline...well let's just say a leader should set the example....

Stop bloody saying Pierce!

Pearce now sh*ts all over Soward when he was 20. No, he is not ready for SOO this year. But most of the dribblers in this thread are bloody clueless.

Babyface has my vote too. We expect too much too soon. If we piss Pearce off like we did Soward we will have twonks back here in two years time giving us sh*t for getting rid of him.

At 20 he is a long term investment.

the roosters pack dominated the dragons pack, yet soward still came out on top.

CORRECTION:

-Our pack outplayed yours in the opening 40.. but as Gould said, we were always just only in the pace of the match, we didn't seem comfortable at all.. whereas the Dragons were always in control
-The 10 minute period after half time where we made mistake after mistake and gave away penalty after penalty decided the whole match
-Id like to see Soward play in our team last night.. save all those drop balls and stop all the penalties we gave away
- All in all, the Dragons played better as a team.. the Dragons pack was better overall

Been watching the game for a couple of years have we?;-)

A couple years is being a bit generous.
Didn't we smash them literally in the second game last year and then they all cried on every radio station they could get on at how Sa knocked Creagh out.

Pearce has it against him for the remainder of the season. He is our only playmaker with Anasta out, so every team will target him. But he is an investment for the future. I would rather him taking the team forward by a long shot.

Soward is going well and I am happy for him. We did stuff him about and he deserves success. But apart from his kicking and support play, he offers very little else. Take hime out of the Dragons and they still win games. Take Hornby out and leave it to Soward to direct them around the park and they will struggle.

One more thing in Pearce's favour......I have never seen him take a dive. Soward would go close to winning gold in London if he takes up diving.
