Mitchell Pearce, what does he do well?

Pearce has a decent running game, and enthusiasm in defence when he is on. He can throw a decent cut out pass and thats his whole game.

He needs a creative, attacking, ball playing 5.8. Pairing a running 5/8 with him and relying on Ponga to do all the creative work is doomed to failure.

His running game isn't decent anymore. He barely makes a line break and
3 of those 8 lead to tries too

Pearce only gives try assists to the opposition team. Gave some peaches with his kicks as well.

Not just this season.

The last 1/3 of his 2019 season form has continued into most of the 2020 season.

Just imagine what 2021 looks like......

The Knights are talking of an extension ? Madness. It's the type of stupid decision that ruined our cap in the first place.Loyalty is admirable - but to a point.

I previously thought Pearce loved playing in Newcastle but in terms of his body language this year it certainly doesn’t look like it. He’s always got this strained/constipated look on his face.

he debuted at 17....nearly 300 games later he has clearly had enough.....

He looks as though he'd rather be on a beach in Bali with his Mrs than be on a footy field.

I'm not overly knowledgeable about coaching and management of league teams at the top level so wanted to ask.

Who is more in charge of the attack, O'Brian or the attacking coach? I would have assumed O'Brian was the main man in charge and the attacking coach was mainly in charge of the attacking drills and getting the players trained to perform their duties.

Why are we just attacking one out? Is there a way we can get answers from the club?

I’m concerned that AOB isn’t coaching the one-out rubbish we saw on Friday. He called it out in the press conference ffs.

We all know Pearce can’t create. Could it be his direction? Same sh*t every week: one out runs, nothing bomb and short ball to Fitz, no support play. Is it him steering us away from the actual game plan? What is our game plan?

F*ck that Friday performance, as a fan I should be celebrating our first finals series in 7 years but instead I’m left feeling down because I genuinely can’t ever picture this team winning a premiership.

Our front row is class, our backline is good, our backrow will improve with Frizell arriving next year but we all know the problem is the halfback because he needs to premeditate everything and he can’t link up with the players who are dangerous (e.g. constantly going to Fitz when all Best needs is the smallest amount of space to do his thing).

It’s f*cking depressing.

that game with Green would suggest it is Pearce's direction. It was a totally different attack when Green had his games.

This one out stuff is what we were doing last year remember.....

just a guess but I'd say the Head Coach and the Attack Coach devise an attacking template and structure together . The Attack Coach would then implement training methods and coach the type of attack agreed upon - overseen by the Head Coach.

There's no way known to man they've been told to go one out hit ups all the way up the field. On the tele against the Titans there appeared to be no one calling for the f**king ball. They look leaderless.

Very generous on the attacking kicks definition.

Pearce does well giving morons the impression he is a good halfback/ kicker/ captain/ playmaker, and watching their undying support fund his ineptitude.

The fox stats are extremely generous in terms of try assists and line break assists, he's well down according to official NRL stats
