REports in this mornings Tele reveal that Justin Hodges missed a traiuning session as he was in Brisbane discussing a 3 year deal with Wayne Bennett. If Brisbane sign Hodges, is Tate more likely to become an Eel?

Well considering a fully fit backline at the Broncos next year with Hodges joining them would come from -

Hunt, De Vere, Frawley, Tate, Hodges, Kelly, McGuire, Seymour, Berrigan, Parfitt, Lockyer and Hodges it would seem there is a good chance that by my thinking Tate could end up on the wing and probably wouldn't be too happy about it.

1. Hunt
2. De Vere
3. Hodges
4. Berrigan
5. Tate
6. Lockyer
7. Seymour

Leaving Kelly, McGuire and Frawley to push for selection.

He could be a very good shot.

More likely to leave? Yes
More likely we'll put in an offer? Yes
More likely there'll be a ton of money from a ton of clubs thrown his way? Yep

Surely Cross is better then Tate. I just keep thinking to Origin last year when Lyon played all over Tate.

Avenger, I agre re Tate last year. However, with Hodges going, wouldn't that cement Cross at the Chooks?

Brisbane COULD have a Tate/Hodges centre pairing. However, DE Vere is a better centre than he is a winger.

Hodges is crap, there is no way he could push tate to the wing.

Tate has re-signed today with the Broncos along with the Civoniceva and Barry Berrigan.

Oh well. Next....

Who cares we don't need them, I'd hate to see Tate playing in the Blue and Gold aswell as Cros, they are unparramatta like.

PB....what is "unparramatta like"?

I would have welcomed both players because of the level of success and confidence that they would have brought to the club.

Surely you wouldn't turn your back on a player that has represented their country and another who has tasted a grand final victory?

I think he means they play for successful clubs and a representative players. Yep, very unparramatta like :?

I think he's referring to their sportsmanship but I like your twist far better

Once again we see the unfair advantage brisbane gets:
rep players= tate, de vere, lockyer, carroll, cinoveciva, berrigan, carlaw, webcke
players that arnt cheap = hunt, seymore, tallis (this yr)
players coming = Hodges

Now seriously.....if theres nothing wrong about that then the pope isnt catholic

The cap is a total farce as the Johns episode proved. I can't see any difference between Johns getting his 400K contract topped up with 550K from independent sponsors than what the dogs did. They're both rorts.

To hell with the cap, surely Fitzy could organise similar deals, get companies to sponsor Eels players instead of the club itself.

Yeah, I know, in John's case the companies don't sponsor Johns to stay at the Knights

Fitzy should give a percentage of a profit to petr wnz as a "donation"...as i think the parra store isnt apart of our sponcerships....then he could use those donations as the top ups on contracts.... :p

That's right, although in Peter Wynn's case I think he is a sponsor, but the principle is the same as used at the Broncs and Knights.

That would be legal under the cap. On ABC Grandstand, they were interviewing the Newcastle CEO. He said as long as the player being sponsored had a legitimate role to play for that company then it was OK.

In other words if I won a Billion dollar lottery tomorrow, I couldn't ask Smith to give me his ulitimate wish list of players and pay them a million dollars each to sweep the floor if they signed on for Parra.
