Morrison Announcment

I would have expected that an offical announcement would have been made on the website today regarding the signing of Glen Morrison.

Perhaps they are waiting for a re-signing or two? Personally I think the priority should be Stapelton.

The Eels website is the worst when it comes to anything. It's probably due to laziness, whoever runs it can't be bothered writing up 3 different paragraphs separately and instead decides to do em all at once.

No Eels Dude, I think it's definitely down to us either still chasing one or two other less high profile players and also possibly re-signing some of our own. I've heard a couple of names of players we are apparently still chasing including some more Dragons. Stay tuned.

SOme young players to go into reserve grade would be handy so they will hopefully develop

and it's not just the offical site they put the press release up asap but the Eels office don't release them.

There was nothing official in the papers or on the nrl site before Robinson was offically announced along with Stringer and Tahu yet, Robinson signed at least a week before

We don't have any fair dinkum five-eighths in the club and he bagged a couple on debut against us, which would have impressed Smithy. And let's face it, he's got Trent Barrett ahead of him at Saints..

Would be a terrific signing!

We all know that Smithy has a history of signing players that he's chased before, now Ren!! who seems to have some nice contacts mentioned St George, I can tell you without confidence ofcourse, is that we have chased Blacklock [who's apparently on the outer with Dragons] and Reece Simmonds [I believe still off contract correct me if I'm wrong] in the past.

We offered both Blacklock and Simmonds contracts last season, especailly Blacklock who was offered big money. Not sure if we will go after them again.

Another playmaker - preferably young and cheap - would be good as outside backs are plentiful at the club and now we have signed Tahu we have the class also. Blacklock has not been anywhere near his best since returning from Yawnion.

Let's not pay any decent money for any more wingers - Grothe, Burt, Graham, Peterson, Anderson - I think we've got it covered. We desperately need a five-eighth for premmies so Feleti can concentrate on developing into a lock.

Simmonds has been resigned by Saints.

Aside from Holdsworth, the other two Dragons off contract are Jenson and Howell - I don't know why we would any need any more second rowers, though.

Yeh Mateo is not a 5/8 and we apart from Dykes we have no specialists. I think Wagon going there is a l;ast dtich effort. But Morris looks good in the halves but he has publically said he wants to play starting hooker. He was greatb in our trials at the begginning of the year so who knows.

I've been told by a little birdy we've made "contact" with Holdsworth among others from Saints. No formal offer as yet but the wheels are in motion....
