Move the date for Australia Day

There are a lot of reasons to move the date. We need to celebrate the day, but Jan 26th doesn't appeal to everyone for obvious reasons.

No better place to start the discussion than here. And no better date to move it to but the first Monday in February. Every year.

Who's with me on this?

They used to have the Superbowl in the last weekend in January and I do recall it being on either Australia Day, or the Aust Day holiday a few times if Aust Day fell on a weekend...

This was back in the 80's...

Doesn't really worry me as its the one day of the year that I have never worked...

I remember seeing bucs v raiders Super Bowl on the public holiday about 10 years ago. Don't think there has been one since.

and yeah, it used to be on a public holiday.dunno what changed. maybe they moved the schedule into september more?

last SB i worked was Feb 2007 Colts vs Bears. it was my first day of my new job so i had to work.
But it was pre twitter and i didnt have a smartphone so i taped the game and watched.
so wasnt too bad.

I couldnt work on superbowl day now.

disappointed but I'll be able to drink and watch the game at work as I have a really poor work ethic.

on a side note the build up to this game has been terrible. Ballgazi vs Marshawn "I'm just here so I won't get fined" Lynch. why aren't they talking about the f'ing game.
