mick watson said on the news tonite that he is being offered a contract with the warriors for at least next season.
good to see the club take care of him.
they reckon he could be laid up for 16 weeks.

It's a real shame but at least it has shown that the Warriors are commited to young NZ players (and ones from domestic comps as well).

To offer a contract to someone out with a long term injury shows a desire to develop good relations with the local clubs in NZ that developed him.

Forgive me for being a cynic, but the Warriors offering Paalesina a contract for next year is just good business sense, nothing more. Look at it this way. He will be fit well before next season. A ruptured spleen, unlike a busted knee for example, is not the sort of injury that carries the risk of reccuring problems once he has recovered. The guy is only 19, and an exceptional talent. If we don't sign him, he'll have had a good offer from another side within weeks. I'm just glad the Warriors are getting in there and going after his signature quickly.

Nah mate, his haircut's better and his shorts are the right size. Seriously though I hope not, Hitro was one of those players who looked like he was gonna be something but it never happened. What DID happen to him anyway?
