I watched an old 1995 game the other day with Ray Warren and Phil Gould in commentary - they actually put the game first and it was first class. Ray was focused on calling the game and Gould was insightful not laying claim to being the guy who invest Rugby League.

That game had sh*t commentating, full with Voss talking about peoples backsides and hair. That has nothing to do with the game, as soon as he gets hit by a bus the better for all Rugby League fans.

The commentry was okay last night - maybe it was just me as a Broncos fan but I did detect a slight Raider bias as the commentators spoke a lot about the game in their perspective and only started giving the Broncos credit in the last 10 or so.

IMO Rabs is getting worse. Would prefer it if they got somebody else. Sterlo and Fatty are still good, Vossy can be good, Gus is great at providing insight. Sideline wise Freddy is brilliant. Maybe move Wally into the box to replace Rabs?

Keeping in mind, I am picking the best from the Channel Nine stable. I much prefer the commentary teams on FoxSports. Each to their own. As it stands, I much preferred the second game last night if only because the Rabbits and Gus show was on hold. As for the sideline guys, you can't go wrong with any of the legends Channel Nine have in Johns, Fittler and Lewis.

Gus was f**king pathetic last night. Rambling on about the cricket and races. Sounds like he doesn't give a sh*t about the footy.

I'll never forget his commentary during the Aus v Eng 4 nations game last year. He virtually said "get this rubbish off and let's go to the cricket".

As a Broncos fan, in glad the the 'QLD' friday night game is usually spared from Rabs & Gus. I like others cant stand the dribble from those two. I much prefer Voss and Sterlo any day.

at least vossy takes the time to learn the names of the teams he's calling
if rabbits has to call a game that involves a team outside the sydney area, he's fair dinkum lost... which as a commentator, i would think is highly embarrassing and very unprofessional.

Raaaaaaaay is an absolute twat but he's the best play by player caller, and then its Warren Smith imo
