They don't need Hunt either, so it's a moot point. You can't seem to deal with the fact that some people would like to see Bowen picked, how is that different from so-called "Bowen lovers" not being able to deal with his non-selection?

Yes they do need Hunt, more so than Bowen.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion in relation to selection, but everyone is also entitled to disagree with ones choices.

Problem is QLD don't need him. Hunt is a much better player- see the test match for evidence. My main problem wasn't that he didn't come up with the play to win the game, it was the fact taht he basically refused to run the ball back from a kick. That is EXACTLY why I don't want him in the Origin side!

Hunt is most definitely NOT a better player, certainly not in terms of natural talent. But i do take everybody's point that he seems to have the right temperament or whatever you want to call it for rep games, and he has the selectors confidence. So i won't be surprised if he gets the nod ahead of bowen, nor will i be too pissed off. While I'd like to see bowen given a chance for qld again, due to his undoubted talent, i am sure hunt will do a good job at the back once again.

End of discussion.

Good respone and I agree 100%. I think what Bowen needs is probally1-2 yrs of playing damn good footy for NthQld where he can learn a bit more and adapt to different situations. He has plenty of aspects of his game that he needs to improve and I am sure he'll do that in the not too distant future. He is only young and no doubt he'll get another shot in the future. The door is not closed forever, short term however Karmichael Hunt is the better option and has the confidence from the selectors.

I just hope his temperament stays stronger this year and his form keeps Hunt right on his toes, keeps us light years ahead of the Blues and hopefully means a few more series wins on the trot.

Glad you aint selector! Bowen on the wing..yep and no thanks. Lehroyd-Lars..only about 10 players ahead of him, Costigan starting..are you dead set on drugs! Dallas Johnson is the best no13 in Qld you fool! Add to that Webb will be struggling to be fit for game 1.

Learoyd-Lars is from Tamworth same with Phil Graham. Now I'm no expert on geography but I'm pretty sure Tamworth is in NSW. Regardless of this fact Raiders players have no right being in any representative sides

i can GUARANTEE you, qld will not pick specialist fullbacks on the wing, especially the small ones that we have.

If QLD want to lose to NSW yes.
Thorn????? He is very slow and would be exposed in origin.
Bowen on the wing vs King or Grothe........yah!
Costigan? What has he done to deserve origin selection???
Graham? A specialist winger/center..yeah he will do alot.
I wont go on...........

I thank you for pointing that out. I think I missed them because none of them have done so recently!

The Qld selectors better not stuff this up this year ... nothing short of 3 floggings will suffice.

I agree with Ethos' team above except for Steve Bell, who will never play Origin again ... Inglis in the centres, Slater on the wing.

Oink !

That would be my ideal team. Hunt deserves the fullback position IMO, but theres no way I could or anyone for that matter could leave Bowen out, so Id move Berrigan into the centres, although he hasnt played there for a while, he did play for Australia in the centres, is one of the best defenders in the game. Now unless Bell or Tonga have a SPECTACULAR run into SOO time I cant put them in the team at the moment.

Forwards are still a bit open, only definites imo if healthy are, Smith, Petro, Price, Crocker. Webb or Thiaday could be broguht into the second row to add a bit of size, but I see no need.

Still happy with this team, but would now drop Berrigan completely, put Tate on the wing and Inglis in the centres.

Bowen won't be fullback for Queensland,Hunt has to blow it for his place to be up for grabs.
Bowen is far better than Hunt but Hunt despite being boring, hasn't f**ked up yet.

That being said I think it's time somebody apart from Berrigan get a turn on the bench.
