In a similar vein to the thread in the nrl forum, what’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think about wrestlers of today and the past. What stuck with you? I’ll start with a couple:

Hennig - his basketball vignette
Cornette - ragging on russo
Sandman - ecw entrances in 1995
British Bulldog - summerslam 1992
Sable - fully loaded
Nash - jumping in the pool at a spring break nitro

The Rock - his funny-ass promos (still happens to an extent today)
Stone Cold - standing up to McMahon and the Corporation
The Undertaker - his American Badass return (biker gimmick)
Kane - joining the Corporation
Big Bossman (RIP) - winning the Hardcore title off Mankind thanks to some help from The Rock in a ladder match
Ken Shamrock - winning the tag team titles with Big Bossman (RIP)
Mankind - Returning to WWF in 2000 to team up with The Rock & Acolytes to take on DX that night
Rikishi - making his debut and turning face in the process coming to the aid of Too Cool
Test (RIP) - making his WWF debut in late 1998 helping The Rock beat Triple H for the World title.
Chyna (RIP) - helping Shane McMahon and Kane defeat Triple H and X-Pac for the European title in 1999.

I sorta took this as 'first thing that pops in ya head'

Shane McMahon - Screwing Austin back in 98 (or 99?) when he refused to count the three count as referee.
Kane - The first face to face confrontation with The Undertaker.
Austin - "Tyson and Austin, Tyson and Austin!"
AJ Styles - Unbreakable '05
Samoa Joe - Ditto.
Rey Misterio, Jr. - Purple onesie.
Brian Pillman - 'I just got fired by Eric Bischoff!"
X-Pac - The Raw after Wrestlemania 14

First thing that pops into head

Foley - A combination of the Hell in the Cell bump, tacs spot at RR 2000 and Flaming Table spot

Kane - Ripping the door off the cell, followed by the RR burning the casket with Taker in it

Eddie - Lying Cheating Stealing - Tossing the chair to the ref and pretending to be hurt

Hogan - the infamous nWo turn

Brock Lesnar - The WM botch

Angle (well and Shane) - Glass not breaking

Glacier - Entrance

Curt Hennig - Interesting one, but I always think of his turn on the Horsemen and smashing Flairs head in the cage door

Chyna - Entering the Royal Rumble

Big Show - I remember reading a magazine around the time he jumped ship and his name was gonna be 'Big Titan' or something. That always stuck with me.
I remember that. Then he debuted as Paul White and I was like wtf?

Raven - His promos sitting in the corner of the ring. "We all need a haven, a sanctuary, a place to hide, a place to escape, a place to dream and hope, a place where the darkness won't seem so frightening. So it is written, so it shall come to pass. But for some the darkness is a relentless enemy that cannot be eluded. And once the darkness senses your fear, once it senses your pain, it is never far behind. I can empathize with these people. I can understand their futilly, I can feel their hopelessness. I feel their pain."...."Quote The Raven Nevermore"

I agree re: the card of summerslam 97, very underrated..

I don't think it was Undertaker's best match of his career though albeit it was his best match at that point. All his matches against HBK (HIAC, and wrestlemania 25/26) were superior in my opinion along with some other matches later in his career.

Hulk Hogan's best match is a tough one, wrestelmania 6 would be right up there but also wrestlemania 5 against savage which has incredible heat.

Yeah sorry, I meant my favourite matches. Not necessarily his best.

1997 coincides with the peak of my interest with wrestling

Jake's promo at Wrestlemaia 6 stands out for me when i think of him.

For some reason with Brutus Beefcake, I most remember his match at the Royal Rumble with Lanny Poffo. Poffo's poem was 'all his cutting and his strutting may be quick enough for some/but I'm the world's smartest man and Beefcake's double dumb'.

I remember Big Boss Man's face promo about Ted Dibiase. Meh. So much better as a heel.
