Sydney Roosters Statement
Wednesday, November 8, 2006

The Sydney Roosters have fined new recruit Nate Myles after he was charged with mid-range drink driving following a Melbourne Cup luncheon.

The club imposed a fine of $10,000 with $5,000 suspended, ordered him to undertake 20 hours of local community charity work and undergo alcohol counselling.

Roosters CEO Brian Canavan issued the fines after discussion with the player.

“Nate is obviously sorry for his actions and understands how dangerous and silly drink driving is.

“He is new to our club and hopefully has learnt a quick lesson, that this will not be tolerated at the Roosters.”

Nate Myles accepted the club’s strong stand and accepted his actions were a bad example for fans and the entire community.

“I am truly sorry I have embarrassed my new club and team-mates. Above all I am aware I should be a role model and not act disrespectfully.

“What has upset me most about letting the club down is that we have a designated driver policy which is strongly enforced for all players to coordinate a designated driver at all special events.

“I was driven back to a friend’s house where my car was parked by the designated driver after a Melbourne Cup afternoon and then foolishly thought I could drive the 2 kilometres home”.

I was wondering how long it would take a Dogs fan to post this:D

I'm proud of the way the Club handled the situation......he probably did that a million times at the Dogs and got away with it:shock:

What happened after the Air flight situation at the Dogs??

Well done Roosters.....Myles work your butt off buddy.

Ok you're clutching at straws :p

The fact it isn't the clubs choice if it comes out or not, it is the police. Myles is over 18 so it is public record and the media would publish it any time it happened.

The dogs handled it the same way as the Roosters did.

He was celebrating the great day which is 7th November for us who still believe in the great Soviet State and it's return. We celebrated with a march past by my children (Boris and Natasha) and my wife Yelena carrying red flags as well as them singing great soviet communist party songs. Of course i was on the "podium" inspecting this great parade. Vodka taste's better on such occassions. Our neighbours must have wondered what was going on.

Long Live the Soviet !!!!!! :)

Your neighbours were busy planting their imperialistic solid state listening devices into the boot of Yeltzin's Lada.

if i regular person does this would it be posted

... It is public record and it'd be published.

Fact is he isn't a normal person; he is a public figure with a large forehead that weighs him down. Why should he be exempt from the media?

You take on that responsibility when you put on the jersey.
