couple of factors.. souths are upgrading their young halves to try and make them lifetime players..

plus you've got george seeking a pay rise after his breakthrough year last year.. he signed for unders when he initially joined because of the lure of playing with sam & the fact he was still to make grade..

part of the reason they had such a big pack last year is due to the burgess twins both earning a pittance compared to what they're really worth..

now that we've freed up merrin's cap space, we're able to offer george the cash he wants that souffs can't provide..
